The smart grid has been developed quickly in these years. But at the same time, the traditional “single-user single-table” meter which is made in the sense of high-power consumption, manual collection and complex management, revealed serious discrepancies between the popular nation:intelligent information management, automatic collection, energy saving in our society today. Meanwhile, under the trend of rapid development of digital processing, the concept gradually being recognized by everyone and become hot spots in instrumentation industry, using a single block of time-shunt measurement meter each user’s energy usage and centralized processing and transmission. Multiple-user meter not only has played a significant role in promoting the user-side energy management, but also speeds up the completion of a strong, diversified and flexible smart grid.Combined with digital signal processing technology, this paper designed multi-user electricity metering system, and the processor is TMS320F2812. The method of metering electricity with multi-stall is proposed in this project. Through different brunches access in different time this system meter electricity with different range. The main work and achievements of this paper carried out as follows:(1) The multi-user meter system based on DSP processor, and its hardware and software is designed in this paper. In terms of hardware, themultiple-user access module is developed, and the multi-user meter metering functions achieved by controlling the respective gate chips at different times, greatly enhanced the flexibility and reliability of the energy meter.(2) The multi-range measurement is developed and it resolved the problem that the error is different with the different signals. What’s more,the best measurement range will be selected depending on the measured signal and adapt to different measured signal(3) Proposed and implemented a multi-user meter metering algorithm and it is based on active power and reactive power metering algorithm. Users’ power usage can be reflected very well when the number is large and the resulting data can be directly used to measure various electrical parameters and enhance the scalability of the software system.(4) Based on the completion of the multiple-user meter hardware and software design, the system debugging and precision is verified in accordance with meter calibration standards and standard procedures.
