As standard of living is increasing day by day, more and more urban white-collars and outdoor enthusiasts tend to explore the depths of the mountains at weekends. But without training, the majority of outdoor adventurers lack self-protection and self-rescue capacity facing the danger and emergency. In the event of adventurer in danger or missing, they only expect the management to rescue them. And management often invested a lot of manpower and material resources to rescue. But it is not available for current search technology by the way the traditional ground manpower search and general human eye observation on aircraft.Secondly, because searched places are unexplored mature area where contain complexity of terrain conditions and the poor of communications, medical and climate. As a result, it is difficult to search and rescue missing persons.As a new industry, UAV are supported by government. The UAV owns advantages as unmanned aerial, light weight, small size, the lower requirement for weather when launching and landing. So these features help us to raise fresh technology for wilderness search. This paper puts forward a new concept about UAV searching system by using the short range wireless communication technology, UAV aerial technique and UAV platform.The system can quickly and accurately obtain the missing persons’ geographic location information by overcoming the human labor searching and the main disadvantage of the human eye observation, and then management rescue the missing persons though the geographic location information. Meanwhile, the system is aimed at putting forward new ideas and solutions to the existing search and rescue technology. The search system including airborne detector and rescue beacon machine is made up of STM32F401, short range wireless chip nRF905 and GPS module. What’s more, the system can rapidly position the missing persons’ geographic location information through short range wireless communication protocol so that rescue departments are easier to rescue them.
