Dietary fiber is an essential nutrition for the growth of geese. Some studies showed thatdietary fiber levels had certain impacts on the fat metabolism for animal body.Lipid levels、bodyfat deposition and cholesterol concentration can be effectively reduced to some extent. The trialwas that six-week-old Ji Lin white goose and Ka Luosi with good health and similar bodyweights were selected. The corn straw was the source of fiber. Each species was randomlydivided into two groups, and each group contained thirty geese. Three replication was set ineach group and each replication contained10chickens.The Dietary fiber levels were8%and11%for different varieties.Jilin white geese in Group A1(8%), Group A2(11%). Ka Luosigeese: Group B1(8%) and Group B2(11%). By determining the feed intake、growth rate、therate of lipid metabolism、the rate of body fat deposition、the rate of blood lipid deposition andthe expression of LPL gene mRNA in the liver and adipose tissue, the study explored themechanism of fiber on fat metabolism in order to provide the scientific reference for reasonableapplication for fiber roughage in goose production and reducing abdominal fat.The results showed that: with the increase in dietary fiber levels, the intake of Group A1and A2respectively was603.10g and706.47g (p<0.05), and the average daily gain was39.00gand27.82g (p<0.05). The intake of Group B1and B2was respectively606.51g and693.69g(p<0.05), and the average daily gain were49.35g and38.18g (p<0.05). With the increase indietary fiber levels, the feed intake of two varieties geese tended to significantly increase, butthe body weight tended to decrease.Compared with A1and A2, with the increase in crude fiber level, the metabolic rate ofcrude fat in A2tended to decrease17.07%(P<0.05). Compared with B1and B2, the metabolicrate of crude fat in B2tended to decrease20.63%(P<0.05). There existed no difference in themetabolic rate of crude fat for two goose (P>0.05).The increasing fiber levels can significantly affect the abdominal fat of geese. The weightof abdominal fat in A2significantly decreased31.86%than A1(p<0.05), and the sebum weightsignificantly decreased30.78%(p<0.05). The weight of abdominal fat in B2significantlydecreased14.90%than B1(p<0.05). Compared with A1and B1, the weight of abdominal fatwas respectively56.88g and33.68g, and the rate of abdominal fat was respectively1.94%and1.36%. The sebum weight was568.11g and345.88g and the sebaceous rate was19.43%and14.08%. Compared with A2and B2, the weight of abdominal fat was respectively38.76g and 28.66g (p<0.05).There existed significant differences between all indicators on each level in twogroups (p<0.05).The results of triglyceride, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein (mmol/L unit)for bloodlipid in A1、A2、B1and B2were:1.07、1.18、1.17、1.42;4.20、3.99、4.59、4.31;1.23、1.33、1.30、1.41; the difference of each index level was not significant (p>0.05), andthe result of aspartate aminotransferase (IU/L unit) was:28.20、23.20、18.50、29.00, and thedifference was not significant (p>0.05).Effects of dietary fiber levels on the expression of LPL gene of mRNA was asfollows.Compared A2with A1, the LPL expression in abdominal fat、liver、sebum and uropygialgland in volume for A2tended to decrease significantly (p<0.05). Compared B2with B1, theLPL expression in abdominal fat、liver、sebum and uropygial gland in volume for B2tended todecrease significantly (p<0.05). In the same fiber level, comparing different sites in Ji Lin whitegoose with those in Ka Luosi geese found that the LPL expression in abdominal fat、liver、sebum and uropygial gland in volume for Ka Luosi geese tended to be higher, and the differencewas significant (p<0.05).The order for LPL expression in different tissues is abdominal fat> liver> uropygial. Theexpression of LPL mRNA relative quantity with triglycerides correlation coefficent is0.871inabdominal of Jilin white geese, and it was a significiant positive correlation (P<0.05).For Ji Lin white geese, the correlation coefficient between LPL mRNA expression andtriglycerides was0.871, and it was significantly positive correlation (P<0.05). The correlationcoefficient between LPL mRNA expression and sebum weight was0.862(P<0.05).For Ka Luosi geese, the correlation coefficient between LPL mRNA expression andabdominal fat weight was0.855, and it was significantly positive correlation (P<0.05). Thecorrelation coefficient between LPL mRNA expression and triglyceride was0.874, and it was asignificantly positive correlation (P<0.05)In conclusion, levels of fibers significantly influenced the performance of the differentvarieties of geese.Under the condition,it reduced the amount of body fat, blood lipid deposition and LPL mRNA in abdominal fat、liver、sebum and the tail oil glands.
