Our country’s agricultural irrigation water are mainly transported by open channel irrigation area. Accurate measuring of liquid flow, helps to improve irrigation and economic benefit. Xiaokaihe gate is one of the most important gate of the Yellow River. It involving 1.1 million acres of irrigated area. It is clear that Xiaokaihe diversion gate accurate measurement of flow is very important. The Yellow River contains plentiful sand and high in its content of inflow sediment, and its section always changing. The accuracy of the flow measurement is greatly affected. It is very important for the accurate measurement of the flow rate and the utilization of water resources scientifically and reasonably. At the same time, an important task of water supply flow measurement method of the modernization, automation, information technology is urgent.This project studies the design and implementation of the control system. The basic flow measurement process and control requirements in the detailed analysis of the river gate’s intelligence, to analysis the functional requirements. The topic researches and designs a set of AC500 PLC based on ABB company and sunway application software platform for effective monitoring of the entire flow process. Based on the research of the national standard of the measurement flow, the overall architecture of the intelligent measurement system is designed. The hardware which are needed in the flow measurement to be designed, selected and deluged.Through the design and application software, the intelligent measurement flow is achieved based on the automatic measurement flow.Under the principle of measurement of safety and reliability and no objection to the subject of the use of sophisticated technology measuring the flow of existing channels to meet the actual needs of intelligent flow measurement. The system realizes the intelligent choice flow scheme, pseudo signal processing, the accurate control over time, on-site equipment state monitoring and measurement of process monitoring, wireless remote control, real-time alarm history, trend display, data storage, and other functions.
