Cultivation of Rhododendron hybrida has a history of over30years in Ningbo City, Beilun District, it is one of the main agriculture industry. The Ministry of Agriculture named "China’s rural azaleas" for Beilun District in2000.But high benefit of high-grade potted plant of Rhododendron hybrida was slow development, the main reason was not a mature technology, especially the key technology-medium selection and proportioning. A series of key technologies were studied.It was studied for the plant height, plant width, root, leaf color, leaf thickness, color and blossom of growth traits index to three varieties of Rhododendron hybrida and physical and chemical properties of9different mixture ratio of medium. The test results show that, M1(sawdust:bark:coconut husk=1:1:1) and Ms (bark:coconut husk=1:2) two matrix proportion of Rhododendron hybrida blossom is good, situation is superior to other several formula. The plant height were60.4cm and58cm, strain amplitude were71cm and66.3cm, flower number were29.3and31.3, significantly better than several other formula, in15months.Physical and chemical properties of medium change situation on3varieties in the cultivation process, that can be applied to a variety of different varieties of Rhododendron hybrida, and have wide range of applications.A complete set of suitable for local production of potted cultivation of Rhododendron hybrida culture supporting technology were integrated out, according to the characteristics of substrate cultivation, watering, fertilization, pruning, pest control technology were studied, and sum up, and relying on "azalea matrix and high efficient cultivation techniques of demonstration and extension of" project.
