With the rapid development of modern agriculture and the large-scale use of agricultural machinery,the modern management for agricultural machinery is a major concern. Cotton as extremely important fieldcrops in our country, there is growing recognition that the mechanized harvesting. Xinjiang is the biggestcotton-producing area in our country and can not be replaced. Its cotton-picking machine number is in therapid increase in recent years. During the cotton-picking machine for cluster and inter-district work, thecotton-picking machine company pays more attention to the management, monitoring, and allocation of thecotton-picking machine.Vehicle monitoring technology is an effective method to solve the problem of vehicle managementand monitoring. With the development of satellite positioning technology and GPRS communicationtechnology, especially the beidou satellite navigation system (BDS) as independent researched, developedand independent controlled by our country was put into operation, which are widely used at present thetraffic, transporters, and other fields. All kinds of farm vehicles vehicle monitoring terminal also will rise.Cotton-picking machine monitoring terminal has its unique monitoring requirements, which is differentfrom the ordinary vehicle monitoring terminal. For example it needs to monitor its peculiar picking head,fan and other equipment state. What’s more, it needs to calculate work area. Therefore, it is worth studyingthat how to combine vehicle monitoring technology with cotton-picking machine monitoring requirementsto research a highly targeted monitoring terminal.The object of this dissertation is to in integrate beidou satellite positioning technology, GPRS wirelesscommunication and ARM technology, developed one targeted strong cotton-picking monitoring terminalwhich has such function as location-based service, monitoring equipment condition, calculating work area,remote communication and etc. The main content of the subject is divided into the following several parts.(1) According to cotton-picking machine monitoring actual needs, the paper puts forward and set up amodel of the remote monitoring system based on vehicle terminal, communication network and monitoringplatform, data center server more than four levels of topology. This article uses the beidou satellitenavigation system (BDS) to have location service for cotton-picking machine, and uses the communicationtechnology of GPRS, to avoid the problem of small communication link, small coverage area, etc.(2)Terminal uses STM32107VCT6chips as the main controller which is strong stability and lowpower consumption and other mature market chip or module, overcome environmental interference oftenaccompanied by cotton-picking machine in the process of actual operation, such as vibration, batting debris,difference in temperature. In order to adapt to the different electrical voltage between domestic and foreignmechanical, terminal designs the wide voltage power circuit between4.5V and40V.(3)Paper analyses the operation characteristics of cotton-picking machine and its key equipment, andputs forward access method of the cotton-picking machine key equipment state, and obtains the automaticidentification model of cotton-picking machine running state. According operation characteristics ofcotton-picking machine harvested, paper puts forward a kind of real-time calculation method which isapplicable to cotton-picking machine work area, and obtains practical formulas of work area throughtheoretical derivation and experimental calibration.(4)This object develops a communication protocols at application layer including the terminal dataupload protocol, data center setup instructions and SMS set command, completing the data communicationbetween terminal, data center and the customers.
