To identify the suitable altitude and fertilizer levels for planting the Hunan tobacco No.4, this experiment is mainly settled in Fenghuang, northern of Xiangxi region. On tobacco agronomic traits (growth period, leaf area, plant height, etc.), economic traits (yield, production value, etc.), physical traits (leaf weight, leaf weight, leaf thickness and other indicators) and leaf quality (appearance quality, internal quality), this experiment compared the difference of each indicator of No.4in different altitudes (200m、400m、600m、800m、1000m), and also, it studied the influence of the different fertilizer levels on the agronomic traits, yield and benefit of flue-cured tobacco and roast after nicotine, total nitrogen, total sugar, reducing sugar, chemical composition, ect.The main research results are as follows:1.The soil pH values in five different altitudes in Fenghuang area have no significant difference, and they all appear to be suitable for planting this type of tobacco, but the final baking day of H5lasts20more days than H20. The height and diameter of the plant show different decrease with the increase of altitude, while the effective upper leaf number, leaf length and width show increase as the altitude rises. There appears no difference in filed uniformity and its color. The economic indicators (leaf area yield, average price and superior tobacco ratio and. the proportion of superior tobacco) and tobacco appearance quality are improved as the altitude increases. The products of H5is increased by12.9%than H1; the average price of H5is improved by13.0%than H1; high ratio and superior tobacco of H5in increased respectively by4.7%and4.7%more than the HI processing. Elevation is the greatest influence factors on the physical properties of tobacco leaves, upper leaves, followed by the lower part of the smoke, the least is middle leaves.2. The influence of the nitrogen level on plant height:N2>N3>N1>N0; Phosphorus: P2>P3>P1>P0; Potassium:K3>K.2>Ki>Ko. Comparing these three elements, the influence on plant height is not obvious. The highest product is N2P2K2,160.2kg, and then the N2P2K3,155.6kg. The nitrogen is influent most, on average105.0kg,1155.0yuan/667m2.Next, it is the potassium, on average80.3kg,883.3yuan/667m2.Last is the phosphorus, on average 77.9kg,856.9yuan/667m2.Nicotine content increased with the increase of nitrogen level, the total sugar content and sugar alkali decreased with the increase of nitrogen level. Corresponding reduction with the increase of p levels, nicotine, total sugar and the rate of sugar alkali have changed in a certain degree of increase.In conclusion, all the indicators of the Hunan tobacco No.4can achieve the best products under the altitude of800to1000meters and the N2P2K2fertilizer level, which can meet the demand of special tobacco in Xiangxi region.
