In order to optimize the variety layout of zhanyi flue-cured tobacco base unit of Shanxi tobacco industrial company,the agricultural and industrial usability of main cultivar(Yunyan97)and potential varieties(Yunyan100,Yunyan105,Yunyan116,Honghuadajinyuan)were analyzed through plot experiment.Taking the industrial availability as the dominant factor and taking into account the principle of agricultural production,the substitution of main variety and reserve varieties were selected and the suitable fertilization level of each variety was determined,and the suggestions for improvement of production technology was proposed.Meanwhile,a new mothod for quality evaluation of cultivars was explored based on physical and chemical characteristics(1)It was suggested that Yunyan100 variety could be selected as substitution of main variety,and the planting area should be gradually increased because of the good representation of agricultural and industrial usability,in which the output value per 667 m2 increased 7.6%than Yunyan97,and the smoking quality and chemical composition of flue-cured tobacco leaves was better,and the fertilization level of Yunyan100 should be controlled at about 6kg/667m2 of pure nitrogen.The agricultural usability of Yunyan116 performed well,in which the output value per 667 m2 increased 1.5%than Yunyan97,but the industrial usability was obviously different of different position of flue-cured tobacco leaves,so the Yunyan116 variety could be taken as a reserve variety,in which the harvest and flue-curing technology of upper leaves should be improved,and the fertilization level of Yunyanl 16 should be controlled at 6kg/667m2?8kg/667m2 of pure nitrogen.The Honghuadaj inyuan variety were difficult to be cured and the economic characters were relatively poor,in which the output value per 667 m2 decreased 31.0%than Yunyan97,but the industrial usability of flue-cured leaves was still good,espically for the smoking quality,so it was suggested that the supporting policies to improve the enthusiasm of farmers planting should be emphasized as well as the technology to improve the quality of upper leaves.(2)The relationship between the physical and chemical characteristics of flue-cured tobacco leaves of different cultivars and the sensory quality was studied by correlation and regression analysis.The difference of appearance quality was closely related with physical characteristics(leaf weight per unit leaf area),and the difference of smoking quality was more related with chemical characteristics(K/Cl,nitrogen/nicotine,nicotine,etc.).(3)Based on six physicochemical indexes,including K/Cl ratio,nitrogen/nicotine ratio,nicotine,reducing sugar/total sugar ratio,starch and single leaf weight,a prediction model(with a determination coefficient of 0.93)for comprehensive smoke sensory quality of tobacco was established,and the model could be applied to evaluate flue-cured tobacco varieties after further experimental validation.
