Stephanitis pyriodes Scott is a main pest on Rhododendron simsii Planch. In order to investigate the effect of temperature on Stephanitis pyriodes Scott’s development,70%±1%relative humidity, light cycle14L:10D,18℃,21℃,24℃,27℃and30℃five temperature were seted up a life table of Stephanitis pyriodes Scott’s laboratory population in this paper. The results show that24℃was optimum for Stephanitis pyriodes Scott growth from18℃to30℃.We explorate the occurrence regularity’s in the open air from2012April to2013November.Results show that the Stephanitis pyriodes Scott’s adult annual mass occurred3to4times and Stephanitis pyriodes Scott outdoor incidence decreased a lot during high temperature.The supercooling points and body fluid freezing points of Stephanitis pyriodes Scott’ patrs of developmental stages were determined by using of a supercooling point tester.Results show that with the Stephanitis pyriodes Scott’s age growth, the supercooling point and body fluid freezing point decreased significantly, and significant differences exist and different supercooling point and body fluid freezing point of time between.37%beta-cypermethrin malathion,1.8%avermectin,5%imidacloprid· cypermethrin and10%imidacloprid were selected for laboratory experiments on Stephanitis pyriodes Scott. The results show that all of the four pesticides are suit for controlling of Stephanitis pyriodes Scott. The feeding behaviors of Stephanitis pyriodes Scott adults on different azalea leaves were observed by electrical penetration graph(EPG)technique. The results show that there were not significant differences in the number of probing、times of which proing waveform and non-proing waveform on different azalea leaves. No. of each proing waveforms(there’re22.07times A waveform on older then42.07times on the newer one,there’re7.53times H waveform on older then4.13times on the newer) exist significant differences between the different azalea leaves during the same observing time. Stephanitis pyriodes Scott adult’s feeding efficiency in the older leaves is higher than other one.
