The reciprocating cutter of double blade had a good cutting performance, a simple transmission mechanism, working reliably and strong adaptability. At present, it was widely applied in agroforestry harvester. And it’s transmission mechanism has a great influence on the movement. The rationality and reliability of the reciprocating cutter’s transmission mechanism could improve the quality and efficiency of the reciprocating cutter and reducing unnecessary costs. Therefore, the paper analyze and research the reciprocating cutter’s transmission mechanism. And the main contents and conclusion are as follow:1. The peper simplified the model according to the working of the reciprocating cutter’s transmission mechanism, and obtained the symmetry operation conditions of the simplified model by analyzing and researching it’s symmetry operation according to the knowledge of four bar linkage, In addition, the peper also gained the influence of the body size to it’s motion performance and how to confirm it’s size by analyzing the motion performance of transmission mechanism.2. In order to find out the weak parts in the transmission mechanism, the paper analyzed the transmission mechanism with transient dynamics by the software of ANSYS workbench. In the process, firstly the main dimensions components was calculated based on the symmetry conditions the transmission mechanism and the analysis model is established, then the cutting force of the reciprocating cutter was calculated in the process of cutting sugar cane by it’s cutting way, lastly for getting the value of time step in the transient analysis, the peper analyzed the transmission mechanism with modal analysis and got it’s natrue frequency.3. The main parameter variables and their statistical properties were confirmed for the reliability analysis according to the characteristics of the upper arm shaft’s structure properties. And the sensitivity, correlation coefficient, the cumulative distribution function and the probability list were obtained by analyzing the upper arm shaft with the reliability simulation analysis system of Six sigma in ANSYS workbench. Thereby the upper arm shaft was proved to be reasonable and reliable.Through the article’s research, it could provide the design, analysis and research of the similar reciprocating transmission mechanism the certain reference value.
