The study aimed to explore the effect of different rearing methods on the intestinal tissue morphology and the development of immune organs of Lushi chickens. In the experiment, 10 Lushi chickens of free range rearing and 10 Lushi chickens of caged rearing(half male and half female), all of which were 18 weeks old, were selected, and their related indicators were analyzed. The results showed that(1) Effects of different rearing methods on the body size and weight of Lushi Chicken: Indexes of free range rooster were higher than caged rooster and the depth of chest was significant difference(P<0.01), keel length and shank girth were significantly different(P<0.05); each index was less than caged hen, the body weight, body length, chest depth, chest wide, wide hips had extremely significant difference(P<0.01); in the condition of stocking, the indicators except chest angle cocks were significantly higher than the hens(P<0.01); in the condition of cage rearing, the weight and the tibia length were significantly higher than the hens(P<0.05).(2) Effects of different rearing methods on Lushi Chicken slaughter performance:Both male and female, chicken leg muscle rate and abdominal fat rate were significantly less than the cages(P<0.05); the gender had an inpacted on chicken breast muscle rate which was extremely significant difference under the same way of rearing method(P<0.01). The rooster, muscular stomach intestine, liver weight were significantly higher than that males(P<0.01); the hens neck, wing weight were significantly lower than that hens(P<0.01); in the condition of stocking, all indexes except the weight of reproductive organs and cocks were significantly higher than hens(P<0.01); captive conditions, all the indicators of the cock were higher than the hens, the weight of head, foot and heart had extremely significant difference(P<0.01), the difference of neck weights were significant(P<0.05).(3) Effects of different rearing methods on the development of digestive organs:The rooster in cecum was significantly higher than that in the outer length(P<0.05),the rest of the intestine length and weight were significantly higher than males(P<0.01); the hens in jejunum and ileum, segment length were significantly greater than that caged hens(P<0.01), the length of cecum was significantly higher than that hens(P<0.05); in the condition of stocking of duodenum, jejunum and ileum, weight were significantly higher than that of the hens(P<0.01); the rooster liver, gizzard, pancreas and stomach organ index were significantly higher than that males(P<0.01);the hens each digestive organ index were significantly higher than hens(P<0.01); Free range chicken small intestine length was obviously higher than that of cage(P<0.01),the rooster relatively small intestine index was significantly higher than that jejunum and ileum(P<0.05), a relatively small intestine index was significantly lower than that in the same way(P<0.05); in small intestine, ileum relative index were significantly higher than the hens(P<0.05).(4) Effects of different rearing methods on the development of Lushi Chicken immune organs: Rooster, bursa of fabricius thymus weight, thymus, bursa of fabricius and organ index were significantly higher than that males(P<0.01); effects of different rearing mode on the growth and development of immune organs of the hens were not significant(P>0.05).(5) Effects of different rearing methods on intestinal tissue morphology of Lushi Chicken: The intestine villi length of the free range roosters was greater than the caged roosters, which the length difference of the duodenal villus was extremely significant(P<0.01); the length difference of the cecum villi was significant(P<0.05), and the intestine villi length of free range hens were greater than caged hens(P<0.05). What`s more, the intestine villi width of free range roosters was significantly greater than the caged roosters(P<0.01), of which the width difference of the duodenal villus was extremely significant(P<0.01). Meanwhile, the intestinal crypt depth of the free range roosters was greater than the caged roosters, the crypt depth difference of the duodenum, jejunum and ileum was extremely significant(P<0.01). The crypt depth difference of the cecum was significant(P<0.05). The intestinal crypt depth of free range hens was greater than the caged hens, of which the ileum crypt depth difference was extremely significant(P<0.01). However, the ratio of the free range roosters between the intestine villi length and the crypt depth was lower than the caged roosters,of which the ratio difference of the jejunum was significant(P<0.05). The ratio of the free range hens between the intestine villi length and the crypt depth was lower than the caged hens, of which the ratio difference of the ileum were significant(P<0.05).In summary, range rearing and cage rearing on the weight and size of Lushi chicken, digestive, immune organ growth indicators had significant effects. The indicators of the rooster except the leg muscle rate, abdominal fat rate were much better than in cages. Furthermore, because the ecological chicken feed wild plants, seeds, insects and so on, which can effectively reduce feeding costs, improveeconomic efficiency.
