As a ecological barrier in agricultural production, farmland shelterbelt played a big role in ecological agriculture and sustainable agriculture. Poplars became the main trees in shelter forest system of Xinjiang province for their such characteristics as fast-growing and strong adaptability. However, the plant protection work of poplar tree belts is relatively weak and the Pest problem in poplar forest is increasingly serious, so it’s very necessary to investigate the pest species in poplar forest. The study about investigation on pest species in farmland protection forest in Shihezi agricultural areas has been carried out from 2013 to 2014.The results of the study were listed as follows:1.The pest species in farmland protection forest in Shihezi agricultural areas has been Preliminary investigated clearly and the list of these species was made. It was discovered that there were 70 species belonging to 35 families of 8 orders. Lepidoptera was ranked first place, and there were 40 species of it.Then there were 15 of Coleoptera, 9 Homoptera, and the rest of 6 species were other order.2.The main pest and their occurrence regularity in farmland protection forest in Shihezi agricultural areas were listed as follows:(1) The main pests eating leafy include Apocheima cinerarius Erschoff, Chrysomela populi Linnaeus, Zeugophora ancora Reitter, Orthosia incerta Hufnagel etc. The eclosion of A. Cinerarius occurred in early March. And adult occurrence peak was from late March to early April. The adult stage was over in middle of April. Chrysomela populi Linnaeus has 2 generation a year. Overwintering adults emerged in early and middle April, and lay eggs in the late April. The high peak of their first generation of larva occurred in early May. The second generation of larva started from July to August. And the adults started to overwinter in late September or early October. The emergence of Zeugophora ancora adult had been found in the middle of June. The Z. Ancora adults began to mate In early July. The peak period of Z. Ancora adults occurrence was early August. In farmland protection forest in Shihezi agricultural areas, the O. Incerta adults had been found in late March, and the peak period of O. Incerta adults was comingin early April.(2) The main trunk pest insects include: Cicadella viridis, Paranthrene tabaniformis, Melanophila decastigma, etc. The C. Viridis adults had been found in late April, the peek of the first generation adults was in early June, and for second generation adults, the peek time came at early September. After the early November, no more adults had been found. Emergence of P. Tabaniformis adults occurred in late April, and was over in late May. M. Decastigma’ eclosion has occurred in late April, and the spate of it’s adults has coming in late May. Mature larvae wintered in October.3. The result of pesticide deal with 2 species pest as follows:(1) The study of several pesticide deal with Chrysomela populi Linnaeus is turn out that the 40% phoxim EC, 4.5% beta-cypermethrin EC, 48% chlorpyrifos EC have a good lethal effect for larva of C. Populi. And above-mentioned 3 kinds of pesticide can be used as a recommended medicament for theprevention and control of C. Populi.(2) The study of several pesticide deal with Zeugophora ancora Reitter larva is turn out that: 4.5% beta-cypermethrin EC put out the best effect for test larva, and the second is 20% Imidacloprid SL, the last is 48% chlorpyrifos EC. And for the adults, the best is 4.5% beta-cypermethrin EC, the second is 48% chlorpyrifos EC, the last is 20% Imidacloprid SL.
