Effects Of Dietary β-Mannanase Supplementation On Production Performance And Intestinal Health In Broilers

The effect of β-mannanase on broiler production was investigated in commercial farm with low and high soybean diet. The growth performance and intestinal health were evaluated. Two experiments were conducted with different soybean additions.In experiment 1, 1-day-old Ross 308 broilers were allocated to 4 treatments with 12 replicates of 30 birds. The broilers were provided with basal diet, basal diet withβ-mannanase(500 g/t), basal diet minus 80 kcal/kg energy, basal diet minus 80 kcal/kg energy with β-mannanase(500 g/t). The experiment lasted 42 days.In experiment 2, 1-day-old Ross 308 broilers were allocated to 4 treatments with 10 replicates of 27 birds.The broilers were provided with basal diet, basal diet withβ-mannanase(500 g/t), basal diet minus 80 kcal/kg energy, basal diet minus 80 kcal/kg energy with β-mannanase(500 g/t). The experiment lasted 33 days.The results indicated that β-mannanase had no significant effect on growth performance of broilers with low ratio of soybean. β-mannanase even increased the ratio of feed to growth performance in energy minus diet. β-mannanase showed some effects on growth performance in high soybean diet fed broilers. β-mannanase decreased intestinal index in low soybean diet broilers and increased ilium index in high soybean diet boilers. Plasma UREA and lactate dehydrogenase(LDH) were decreased in low soybean diet broilers.β-mannanase increased fat deposition in high soybean diet broilers.In conclusion, β-mannanase supplementation could improve the intestinal development and increase protein deposition, which could alleviate the stress from the environment.
