Abelmoschus Corolla is originated from the corolla of Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Medic.that comes from Abelmoschus of Malvaceae. The drug is cold nature and sweet taste. The efficacy of this traditional Chinese medicine is detumescence by detoxification, clearing away heat and promoting diuresis for oral and external application. It has been used for treatment of dropsy, nephritis, carbuncle and durn due to hot liquid or fire. Now, as the common drug to treat nephritis, it is used to fiant capsule and torche for clinical application. It is one of the medicine originated from flowers in large amount and great benefit.Because of lacking of study on seed picking of Abelmoschus manihot, the extensive management lead to degeneration of germ plasm and decent of quality. As the source of crude medicines, seed is the base of the development of standardizable planting. To study picking and pretreatment can make the use of crude medicines safety, availability, stabilization and controlled.This thesis is divided into five parts. The main contents are as follows:1.Overviewing the research of Abelmoschus manihot in recent years, introducing its biological characteristics, and summarizing the major outcomes of its chemical composition, pharmacological effects and clinical application. Overviewing the research of seed vigor, seed aging and seed pretreatment in recent years.2. Identifing Abelmoschus manihot, Abelmoschus moschatus, and Abelmoschus esculentus by researching on literature, biological characteristics, chemical identification, and fingerprint. To make sure the safety of using crude medicines. To study the cross breeding between Abelmoschus manihot, and Abelmoschus moschatus. Researching the activity and storage characteristics of pollen grain, to establish a new breeding method of Abelmoschus manihot.3. Comparing the difference of outside quality evaluation and inside biochemical index between seeds that picked from different producing area, to provide theoretic foundation for the research of seeds. To investigate outside quality evaluation and inside biochemical index of seeds that collected from different developmental stage, picking time and storage condition. Making the picking time and storage condition pertinently.4. To explore the acceptable aging method and compare the difference speed of water absorption between normal and aging seeds. Using PEG and warm water to treat with normal and aging seeds, analyzing the affect of different methods. To definitude the socially acceptable treatment and assure the output of Abelmoschus manihot.5. To establish the HPLC and IR fingerprint of Abelmoschus Corolla with the hierarchical cluster analysis and to determine the content of hyperfine and quercetin. Fingerprint of effective constitutent could be used to control the quality of Abelmoschus Corolla availably. The method is sensitive, repeatable and accurate.
