The investigation was focused on the several cultivation technologies of squash(Cucuribitia maxima), which improved its cultivation practices and gained the goal of year-roundsquash cultivation in shaoxing.1. There were nine squash varieties which were ’Sheng Li’,’Cui Li’,’Jin Li’, and so on. These varieties were used to compare their yield, quality and resistances. It was showed that ’Cui Li 2’had the best agronomic performance among these varieties. Furthermore,’Tian Li Wang’ had the most amount of total soluble solid than others.2. During winter-spring cultivation,’Cui Li 2’ and’ Li Guan’ exhibited better performance on early maturity, commercial trait and yield than others. Result of experiments on the greenhouse cropping and different frames on squash growth showed that cultivation based on arch center was favorable.3. During summer-autumn cultivation,’Sheng Li 2’ and ’Jin Li’ showed the better virus disease resistance than others. For the planting date, squash is planted in July performed better than that in September.4. Arrangement of the crop rotation year-round:squash grown in mid November during winter cultivation can obtain higher yield and better benefits. When squash is grown in summer-autumn, the planting date ranged from early July to early September. Although yield of squash grown in summer-autumn, it showed high price and can gain more benefits. The squash cultivated in the open field showed labor-saving because of rough management. 5. Regarding to the fruit setting, three methods, artificial pollination using pollen from Cucurbita maxima and Cucurbita pepo, using forchlorfenuron to treat female flower, were compared to study their effects on percentage of fruiting and total soluble solid content. It was showed that squash can fruit after pollinated by Cucurbita pepo pollen. The effect of forchlorfenuron was better than pollen pollination treatment. The result of pollen low temperature storage experiment showed that pollen viability was a good vigorous under-18℃ storage condition. The fruiting rate of Cucurbita maxima and Cucurbita pepo reached 90% and 80% after fertilization by 30-day pollen with low temperature storage.6. As for the pest and disease control. It was showed that the effect of Lunasen on powdery mildew was good. The effect of mushroom polysaccharides plus toxic fluoride on virus disease was good. While the effect of avermectin on Bemisia tabaci was the best.
