Field Survey And Preliminary Strengthening Design Of Big And Medium Check Dams In Fugu County

Check dam engineering is an advantage kind of soil and water conservation mechanical measure in the eco-environment construction on loess plateau, which has some targeted and efficient effects on block sand, flood detention and soil conservation, etc. In addition, check dam can also form cultivated land, improve agricultural production conditions and promote ecological restoration. However, due to disrepair and various problems that existing in management, check dam hidden danger in the loess plateau is gradually intensified. Check dams running in abnormal operation. There is an urgent need to take reinforcement measures.Bsaed on the field survey of 704 check dams in Fugu, this paper had analyzed the dilapidated big and medium check dams’ typical types, discussed the main reason for hidden danger and the necessary reinforcement measures and designed the reinforcement scheme of the Shijiagou big check dam. The main results showed as follows:1. The results show that there are 389 dilapidated big and medium check dams in fugu,which accounting for 55.26 percent of the total number. Involving the basin area of 796.89km2, accounting for 24.68 percent of the total area of Fugu. Based on the amount of these big and medium check dams, the hidden danger in flood discharge structures account for 66.07 percent, and which is the most prominent; the hidden danger in dam bodies account for 32.90percent; the hidden danger in drainage structures account for 9.25 percent. Which constructed in the last century, the 1960 s and 1970 s, account for 77.38 percent. The full check dams account for 47.81 percent.2. Aiming at the typical problems exist in the full check dams which have not normal flood discharge structures, this paper had designed the reinforcement scheme of the Shijiagou big check dam: Insist the basic principle of adjusting measures to local conditions and considering the flood control standards and capacity, designed the dam heightening and reinforcement scheme. In the spillway topographical, geological conditions of the original soil,layout based on the analysis of the bearing and the discharge capacity, based on the principles of the economic and reasonable, designed the excavation and lining appropriate reinforcement scheme. After the strengthening the dam can effectively adjust the flood within the channel,eliminate the hidden dangers and protect the safety of downstream. It can be used for reference for the reinforcement work of other similar dilapidated check dams in loess plateau.3. Based on field survey and the operation of improper management problem in the running of check dams, propounded the suggestions of the management: Clear and definite the management responsibility and the scope; Reasonable arrangement of the management operation mode, strengthening daily management; Attaches great importance to the construction of professional management team and the flood control and system; Ensure the construction and management fund is special funds.
