In this paper, the digging machine feed movement as the main form of clues.This paper has studied the constant feed rate digging machines and unsteady feed rate digging machines. For different operational requirements the work was developed four types of digging machines. This paper focuses on the feed mechanism motion characteristics of slider-crank feed mechanism digging machine, drill power consumption variation;half nuts feed mechanism digging machine feeding parameters and it’s feed mechanism operation principle,drill torque variation. research content:(1)Research content of slider-crank feed mechanism digging machine.Soil vertical speed table is calculated based on the theory of soil transporting digging machine and with analytical methods of modern mathematics and using Matlab software.Then the length of rocker(0.75m) was determined.The motion characteristics of slider-crank feed mechanism has been described, then drill feed rate and depth of digging parameter equation has been determined.The curve of drill feed rate changes with drill digging depth was painted up.The experiment of drill power consumption characteristics was completed.It can be summarized that there was a positive correlation between the powered hole digger feed rate and the drill power consumption.It was found that when digging depth reached 200 mm, the drill power consumption reached the maximum.Then the drill power consumption decreases with the increase of drill digging depth.(2)Research content of half nuts feed mechanism digging machine.The curve of soil vertical speed and drill clogging critical velocity was painted up based on classical the theory of soil transporting digging machine and with analytical methods of modern mathematics.Then the feed rate(5mm) of the drill was determined. The movable pin orbital angular of nuts change paddle been identified as105°with analytical methods and numerical analytical methods.The experiment of digging machine working performance was completed. Then the drill torque graph with time, the torque standard deviation graph with time and the drill displacement graph with time were painted up.Series of conclusions about the the drill torque variation were obtained.(3)Research content of efficient and simple digging machine.This paper developed two types of efficient and simple digging machines.For the pulley blocks feed mechanism digging machine, ratio radius of the drum can beadjusted then the saving effort feature of digging machine was realized.The operator need not bend.It reduces the burden on the operator.Manual feed mechanism digging machines can flexibly control the drill feed motion when it encounters obstacles.
