Self-rooted seedlings are the best seedlings which are selected during production by the asexual breeding methods, such as tissue culturing,cutting and layering. Comparing with tissue culturing and layering,cutting has higher reproduction propagation, and shorter breeding cycle.Thus its cost is much lower. It is an efficient way to accelerate the process of stock breeding. This experiment took place in the kiwifruit experimental station of Northwest A&F University from March 2015 to June 2016. Test materials were collected from the kiwifruit experimental station in Mei County, even some are collected from the wild. The materials include Actinidia polygama, Actinidia chinensis, Actinidia arguta and Actinidia eriantha. And all the materials had been treated with different concentrations of NAA, IBA and ABT1(a kind of rooting powder). The objective of this experiment is to explore a simpler way to breed kiwifruit self-root stock, and to find out an available stock for cutting.What the author tries to solve is the domestic breeding difficulty of self-root stock in order to promote the construction of kiwifruit self-root stock demonstration garden. Experimental conclusions are as follows:1. The best hardwood and spray rooting material have been found during the experiment.The Actinidia Polygama collected from the wild forest in Qin Ling Mountains has the best performance after grafting. The best hardwood cutting substrate is the 1:1 mixture of substrate and fine soil. After the treatment of 200 times of ABT1 for eight hours, the seedlings have the best performance. Under this treatment, the cutting seedlings grow the best, so does the callus. It not only has more rooting number,but also has longer root. The best treatment can also be suitable for spray.2. In the compatibility experiment of Actinidia polygama, we found out that Mi Liang No.1 has the best compatibility, the second is Jinlong No.2, Nong Da Mi Xiang is the worst.And the best compatibility can always found among yellow flesh.The test found that the cutting seedling cultivation consistency is much higher than that of normal seedlings under the same cultivation condition,especially in the biomass and seedling growth. It has great guiding significance for the establishment of the kiwifruit orchard.3. The experiment under stress conditions showed that the Actinidia polygama seedlings have better resistance after cutting, and it is tolerant to waterlogging and barren. But there isno significant difference in drought tolerance comparing with normal grafted seedlings. In the future, this kind of cutting seedlings can be used under the stress conditions.It has great significance on the development of kiwifruit industry in some areas with high humidity or poor soil.
