Trees play a critical role in the ecological system, but the existence of wood decay fungi brings threat not to the survival of trees, but makes a big influence on the life of human beings. This study investigated some streets, parks and campuses in Fuzhou from March to August in 2012, and obtained 118 samples, among which 90 samples have been identified. Most of these wood decay fungi identified belong to Hymenochaetaceae, Meruliaceae and Polyporaceae. Then the investigation was also conducted from September 2012 to January 2013, and obtained 159 samples in Hong Kong. Among 96 samples identified, most wood decay fungi in Hong Kong belong to Hymenochaetaceae and Ganodermataceae. Furthermore, phylogenetic analysis was studied on some species in Ganoderma and Phellinus to explore their phylogenetic relationships.
