From September 2012 to August 2013,sample collection for wood-decay fungi in Southern Fujian(i.e.,Quanzhou,Xiamen and Zhangzhou)has been carried out.The sampling locations include urban parks, streets, suburban forest parks, mountains and so on.There are 25 sampling sites in all, including 11 sites from Quanzhou,5 sites from Zhangzhou and 9 sites from Xiamen. So far,227 samples have been obtained,i.e.,96 samples from Quanzhou,18 smples from Zhangzhou and 113 samples from Xiamen.146 samples have been identified to species level by the use of morphological characteristics and ITS rDNA sequence analysis, including 59 samples in Quanzhou,15 samples in Zhangzhou and 72 samples in Xiamen.Among the identified samples, only one fungus belongs to ascomycetes(Xylaria regalis),others are basidiomycetes. Most of the identified basidiomycetes are Polyporales and Agricales, and the rest of them include Hymenchaetales,Auriculariales,Russulales, and so on.According to the results, most of them are saprophytic fungi, and few are pathogenic fungi(e.g.,Trametes versicolor,Inonotus porrectus,Phellinus noxius). As Southern Fujian locates in the subtropical monsoon climate zone and faces the East China Sea,most of the wood-decay fungi can grow well.Regarding this situation, further research about damage and infection caused by the pathogenic wood-decay fungi needs to be carried out.Based on the previous reports of Ganoderma in Fujian province, phylogenetic analyses were also carried out on some species of Ganoderma in Southern Fujian to explore their phylogenetic relationships.
