| With the improvement of people’s living standards, the demand for goat products is increasing rapidly. Coupled with the severe degradation of grassland in the northern area, the captive breeding patterns of goats in south China are catching up with the traditional grazing breeding patterns in northern area, and the scale is pretty large now. Goats really like dry and moderate growth environment. The goats will be more likely to get sick in the heat and humidity climates. The goats will infect with pneumonia, having parasites, foot rot and so on. They will have serious effect on their growth and development, meanwhile it will also suffer from economic costs. Monitoring the breeding environment and physical parameters of the goats wirelessly, real-timely, stably and accurately has important practical significance to help the working staff to take effective precautionary measures to reduce the damage. This article aims to use the wireless sensor network technology and the network information technology to promote the development of agricultural information technology, and it develops a remote monitoring system for goat farming based on WSN. The main work is listed as follows:(1) Hardware design of remote monitoring system for goat farming. The hardware mainly consists the WSN node circuit, the main controller hardware circuit and the GPRS remote communication module hardware circuit. The WSN node hardware circuit consists the ZigBee module and the sensor detection module. The ZigBee module uses CC2530 chip control module. The sensors consist the intelligent digital temperature sensor DHT21/AM2301, digital sensor GY-30 light modules, photoelectric transducer Pulse Sensor and digital infrared temperature sensor MLX90614 ESF. The main controller consists ARM7 series chip STM32F103RCT6 and TFT-LCD touch screen. The GPRS module uses the SIM900 A communication chip. The wireless sensor network will send the collected data to the main controller, and the GPRS module will send the data back to the remote monitoring center.(2) Lower computer software design of remote monitoring system for goat farming. The lower computer software design uses C language to write program. The WSN software program is compiled by IAR7.60 software development platform, and it is in charge of collecting and transmitting data within the local area. The main controller software program is compiled by MDK5 software development platform to receive the data that sent from the wireless sensor network, control the GPRS module which uses embedded TCP/IP network protocol to send data to the remote monitoring center and realize real-time display of the live data, limit alarm, data storage and touch inquiry.(3) Host computer software design of remote monitoring system for goat farming. The host computer monitoring center uses LabVIEW10 virtual instrument software development platform, and it consists the man-machine interactive front panel design and the background process design. It realizes the functions such as remote receiving data, real-time display, limit alarm, data storage and Web publishing.(4) System testing. The WSN networking, the remote communication transmission, the sensor detection and the whole monitoring system have been tested at goat farm of Southwest University. The results show that the wireless sensor network packet loss rate is of 0.28% averagely, the telecommunications network average packet loss rate is of 0.41% averagely, the network communication is good, the lower computer hardware and the host computer monitoring center have reached the expecting functions and the remote monitoring system can realize the monitoring on parameters of goat farming. |
