Because of the advantages of resources and policies, Xinjiang has now become an important production base of the country, and for more than 20 years, Xinjiang continuously ranked first in the country in the following areas: cotton growing area, total production, per unit yield, transfer volume. At present, Xinjiang cotton industry is undergoing a major change of policy, market and structural adjustment.With the start of target price subsidies pilot of Xinjiang cotton and the promotion of strategy of “the Belt and Road Initiative”, Xinjiang may form a big pattern where the cotton industry logistics, capital flow and technology flow scattered to Central Asia, Soutn Asia, the Middle Ease and even European. With the development of cotton industry in Xinjiang, the use of cotton picker has become more and more popular.However, due to the dry climate of Xinjiang, the cotton in Xinjiang are “undersized”, crowded” and “early”,resulting in fire-prone when cotton picker pick cotton, and leading to fire accidents that cause safety loophole for cotton production and bring economic losses to farmers. So it’s necessary to design a device for the early warning of cotton picker fire detection. There are few researches on the fire hazard of cotton picker both at home and abroad. Along with the development of “intelligent agricultural machinery”,requirements on the safety and reliability of agricultural machinery are made, and the combination of sensors and agricultural machinery will be an important research to guarantee the intelligent agricultural machinery. Therefore, at the same time of reducing the loss of cotton farmers, the research on the device of fire alarm detection of cotton picker will also provide a theoretical and technical reference for the further research of fire detection of cotton picker.The target of this study is to solve the fire detection of cotton picker, with the method of the incorporation of program design, experimental research and theoretical analysis, to analyze and design the related parameters and detection alarm function of the device of fire early warning detection of cotton picker. The research contents are as follows:(1)The theoretical and experimental analysis of the infrared property of cotton combustion. To analyze the infrared spectroscopy features of the combustion product of cotton theoretically and test. By analyzing the experimental data, summary the infrared spectroscopy features of cotton combustion. To select the2.5~12 μm infrared spectral band with stronger energy and easy detection as the target range of the fire detection.(2)The determination of key indicators. According to the theory of cotton combustion infrared characteristics and the experimental results and the conveying principle of cotton picker to ensure the detector that used to detect fire is the pyroelectric infrared detector, the detection time should be less than0.3s, and to test the detector to make sure the alarm threshold value is 0.95 V.(3)The design of the key hardware and software of fire detection device. According to the theory of cotton combustion infrared characteristics and experimental results, combined with the principle of economic and practical, accurate and fast detection, to plan the scheme reasonably and select the key hardware such as the data processing chip of fire early alarm detection device of cotton picker, and design its software program to achieve the design requirements of all indicators of the fire detection device.(4)The analysis of bench test and the determination of the installation plan. After the design of the hardware and software of the fire detection device, build a test platform of fire detection device to have the experimental study of alarm rate and false alarm rate of fire detection device. At the same time, to analyze the influence of the environmental parameters and the installation location of the fire detection device on the performance of the detection device, and to check whether performance of the fire detection device meet the requirement, and to provide reference for the installation scheme of fire detection system on cotton picker. The test results show that the number of installation is the most important influence factor of the the accuracy of the fire detection system. Two detection devices are installed on the upper and bottom of the cotton transmission pipeline to achieve 95% of the detection accuracy.
