Cost-Effectiveness Analysis Of Omeprazole Capsule And Injection Curing Gastroduodenal Ulcer

Objective: Taking the way of drug economic evaluation, this paper compared the curative effect and cost effectiveness of omeprazole capsule and injection when they are applied with clarithromycin and tinidazole in order to choose the cheapest and most effective while least side effective and compliant medicine to cure gastroduodenal ulcer.Methods: A prospective randomized comparative way was adopted; target participants were the patients with gastroduodenal ulcer who were hospitalized in digestive system department from September, 2009 to September 2010. 180 patients with gastroduodenal ulcer and mucous membrane were optimum and HP were positive were divided into two groups randomly, experimental group and control group. Unblended experiment was carried out. Reexamine was held after two-week treatment, heal effect of their ulcer and HP negative data were analyzed statistically and cost-effectiveness analysis was also held.Results⑴The characteristics in social demography, patient’s condition ability in living and producing, age , sex and morbidity of two groups were not different(P>0.05) .⑵180 cases were not absent during two weeks of treatment.⑶Average age were 45.2±26.3 years old, patients about 45 occupied 81%,namely most of them were middle aged, the young and old were rare comparatively, 75.6% male and 24.4% were female. Medical records were drinking, smoking, spicy food, glycuresis, hyperlipemia and high blood pressure. 82.58% of the 65 recidivation often drank, the percentage was higher than the non-drunk(χ~2=7.233,ρ=0.007).⑷The effectiveness rates of two groups were 97.8% and 98.9%. The total cost of capsule group was 33163.2 Yuan, each spent 368.48 Yuan; while the total cost of injection group was171479.1 Yuan and each costed 1905.32 Yuan, the difference was different significantly.Conclusion: After two weeks’remedy, the curative effects of omeprazole capsule and injection applied to treat gastroduodenal ulcer are equal, but capsule is more economic, convenient, compliant, humanized and safer which conforms to the drug economic principle.
