Objective:The purpose of this study is to elucidate the role of AEG-1(Astrocyte elevatedgene-1)and Beclin1in the genesis and progression of PTC(papillary thyroidcarcinoma) by detecting the AEG-1and Beclin1expression in different thyroidtissue.To investigate the correlation of expression of AEG-1and Beclin1with inpapillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC).Methods:Immunohistochemical SP was used to detect the expression of AEG-1andBeclin1in34cases of PTC and10cases of adjacent non-tumor thyroid tissues. Alldata were statistically by SPSS17software.Results:The positive rate of AEG-1in papillary thyroid cancer was82.35%, while in theadjacent normal thyroid tissue was20%;. AEG-1expression in papillary thyroidcarcinoma was significantly higher than that in normal thyroid tissue. By χ2testshowed positive expression of AEG-1difference in papillary thyroid carcinoma andadjacent normal thyroid cancer was statistically significant between organizations (P<0.05). The expression of AEG-1was related to patients gender (P <0.01), age (P<0.01), tumor size (P <0.01), lymph node metastasis (P <0.01), violation of glandularoutside (P <0.01) and clinical stage (P <0.05).Beclin1expression in papillary thyroid carcinoma was23.52%, while in theadjacent normal thyroid tissue was70%, Beclin1expression in papillary thyroidcarcinoma was significantly lower than normal thyroid tissue. Beclin1by χ2testshowed positive expression rate between papillary thyroid carcinoma and adjacentnormal thyroid cancer was statistically significant between organizations (P <0.05).Beclin1expression was related to lymph node metastasis (P<0.05), glandularoutside invasion (P<0.05), and patients age (P>0.05), gender (P>0.05), tumorsize (P>0.05), clinical stage (P>0.05) is not relevant.By spearman rank correlation analysis the Beclin1and AEG-1expression in papillary thyroid carcinoma was negatively correlated (r=-0.142, P <0.05)Conclusion:AEG-1may be involved in the promotion of papillary thyroid carcinomainvasion and metastasis; The abnormal expression of Beclin1may contribute to theincidence of papillary thyroid cancer invasion and metastasis; the AEG-1and Beclin1expression in papillary thyroid carcinoma was negatively correlated.
