Objective:This study was designed to investigate an association of this polymorphism with EH and healthy subjects in chinese-korean and han peaple in yanbian area, and discuss if there are differences in nations which Chinese-korean and han people, according to the polymorphism of the MTHFR677C/T genotype.Methods:The distribution of168cases group and187control group in MTHFR C677T gene polymorphism were taken by DNA sequencing with Chain Termination Method. Then compared genotype frequencies and distribution of MTHFR677C/T used the statistical analysis.Result:(1) In168cases group the distribution of MTHFR677C/T gene polymorphism, CC、CT and TT is71、70、27, respectively; In187control group the distribution of MTHFR677C/T gene polymorphism, CC、CT and TT is98、56、33. Compared the Clinical data Between the two groups, found that in case group the level of BMI and HCY are higher than control group (P<0.01), TG and HDL-C also has Statistical difference (P<0.05)(2) We found the CT genotype was41.6%and29.9%, compared between the case group and control group, and there was Statistical difference (P<0.05).The prevalence, that people with CT Genotype is higher than CC genotype.(3) Compared the two groups in han people, we found that there was differences in statistical (P<0.05)。The prevalence, that people with CT Genotype and CT/TT genotype is higher than CC genotype. Compared the two groups in Chinese-korean people,we found that there was no differences in statistical (P>0.05). conclusion:(1) MTHFR677C/T gene polymorphism is an independent risk factor for EH in YanBian area.(2) MTHFR677C/T gene polymorphism is a risk factor in chinese han people, but not in Chinese-korean.(3) There was difference in nations of yanbian area between han people and Chinese-korean.
