ObjectiveTo observe the clinical curative effect of thread embedding therapy combined with auricular acupressure for treating the type of gastrointestin al-heat of simple obesity.To make clear the comparative advantage of thread embedding therapy combined with auricular acupressure in treating the type of gastrointestin al-heat of simple obesity.To explore the possible factors that affect the efficacy of the thread embedding therapy combined with auricular acupressure and observe the effect of acupuncture on blood lipids, blood glucose.MethodsWith random number table, the60simple obese patients, which were met the inclusion criteria of gastrointestinal-heat, were assigned into two groups, the treatment group and the control group.30cases in each group, The treatment group using the method of thread embedding therapy combined with auricular acupressure, while the control group received acupuncture combined with auricu lar acupressure method. Both groups were treated for3months, The acupoints selection of the thread embedding therapy:Zhongwan, Tianshu, Daheng on the abdomen, Shang Juxu on the leg, Da Changshu on the back. The auricular acupoints selection of the auricular acupressure:Shenmen, Pi, Wei, Sanjiao, Nei Fenmi and Xiaping. every10days the patients shall received the thread embedding therapy once. After embedding requires patients do the Massage on every embedding points5minutes before and after meal. The auricular acupressure was replaced every three days, alternating ear, and the patients were asked to press the point5minutes before daily meals. The pain degree depend on the patient can be tolerate. The acupoints selection of the control group:Zhongwan, Tianshu, Da-heng, Shuidao on the abdomen, Quchi, Zhigou on the arm, Shang Juxu on the leg, nei ting on the foot. The auricular acupoints selection of the auricular acupressure in control group are the same to treatment group. Evaluate the efficacy by observing the change of body weight, BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference, ratio of waist and hip circumference, and the biochemical indica tors such as blood lipids, blood sugar before and after treatment. Discuss the clinical efficacy of the thread embedding therapy combined with auricular acupressure and observe the effect factors that affect the clinical efficacy.ResultsAfter treatment, The weight, BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference, waist-hip ratio were significantly reduced compared with before (P<0.05). However, during the treatment, the patie nts treated with high adherence because of save time and in the control of appetite aspects the method of thread embedding therapy combined with auricular acupressure had good effect than the control group. In biochemical indicators, the two groups have different degrees of improve biochemical indexes after treatment. But the difference was not statistically significant comparison with before (P>0.05), and compare also no significant difference between the two groups after treatment(P>0.05). The reason may be strict inclusion criteria and the study mostly younger obese patients,which are in many biochemical indicators within the normal range, as well as not long enough time to observe. But it also showed thread embedding therapy combined with auricular acupressure and acupuncture combined with auricular have some degree of improve biochemical markers of simple obesity patients.To sum up, the results showed that thread embedding therapy combined with auricular acupressure in treating of gastrointestinal-heat simple obesity with a high clinical efficacy, safety, no side effects, can save patients time, improve patient compliance, etc, and it can also have some improvement on biochemical indicators, in some extent,reduce the risk of complications of obesity.ConclusionThe results of this study showed that both of the thread embedding therapy combined with auricular acupressure and the acupuncture combined with auricul-ar acupressure in treating the simple obesity with hyperphagia can achieve better short-term clinical efficacy, Both of them can not only be effective in reducing body weight, body mass index, waist circumference, hip circumferen ce, waist-hip ratio in obese patients,but also can improve fasting blood glucose, TG, TC, HDL, LDL and other biochemical markers in obese patients from varying degrees of. Among them, The effect in improving blood glucose, lipids and other biochemical indicators were equal. Indicate that both methods were an effective way to treat simple obesity. But in the control of appetite and improve patient compliance aspects the method of thread embedding therapy combined with auricular acupressure had good effect than the control group. So the thread embedding therapy combined with auricular acupressure in treating the simple obesity with hyperphagia have the advantage of efficacy, economic,security,can save patients time, improve patient compliance,etc. worthy of promotion in clinical.
