Abstract Objective:To investigate the relationship between the level of Chemerin in the serum of patients with essential hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy of essential hypertension. Methods:149hypertensive patients were randomly selected from the Internal Medicine-Cardiovascular Department of Haikou Affiliated Hospital of Xiangya Medical College of Central South University from June2013to November2013(male77cases,female72cases; Average age67.12±11.06). The results of Doppler echocardiography examination collecting from those selected patients.Calculate the left ventricular mass index by using the Devereux formula (left ventricular mass index, LVMI) and packet, where LVMI>125g/m2(male) and110g/m2(female) as hypertension with LVH group, less than this standard as hypertension without LVH group. And selected80cases in our hospital physical examination center whose examination was in normal healthy condition as control group in the same period. Acquisition of essential hypertension group and control group of fasting venous blood, blood samples from the upper serum after centrifugation to test specimens. Determine the Serum Chemerin levels in patients with hypertension and normal control group. Results:(1)The levels of serum Chemerin in three group, hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy group (616.53±140.51ng/ml) was higher than that in the normal control group (396.05±118.18ng/ml), the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01); The group of without left ventricular hypertrophy (434.65±105.81ng/ml) was higher than the group of control(396.05±118.18ng/ml),the difference was significant(P<0.05);hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy group (616.53±140.51ng/ml) was higher than the group of without left ventricular hypertrophy(434.65±105.81ng/ml),the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01)(2)Serum Chemerin concentrations were positively correlated with LVMI, which was significant(r=0.827,P <0.01)(3) In hypertension group, serum Chemerin concentration and relative wall thickness (RWT) were positively correlated, which are statistically significant (r=0.196, p<0.05)Conclusion:There is a positive correlation between the level of serum Chemerin and the patients of essential hypertension with left ventricular hypertrophy.(3Figures,10Tables,62References).
