Background:stroke, cerebrovascular accident, said Western medicine, commonly known as "stroke", is seriously endangering the health of the elderly, even life-threatening. With the advances in modern medical technology, the vast majority of patients are able to successfully tide over danger, but often have stroke sequelaes. Stroke sequelaes are complex, consist of motor function, cognitive function, language function, mental disorders urinary systems, and so on. Stroke sequelaes have a serious impact to the patient’s life, but also bring heavy financial and emotional burden to the families. Acupuncture has become one of the major rehabilitation traditional means for sequelae of stroke, especially scalp acupuncture, have a unique effect on brain-borne diseases. Mechanism of effect on the scalp acupuncture also involves a number of aspects, including biochemical level, cell level, molecular biology or genetic level, etc. In recent years, imaging studies have gradually been applied to the scalp mechanism, including ultrasound, CT, MRI and so on. fMRI has high security, high spatial and high temporal resolution,so it has gradually become one of the methods of acupuncture mechanisms. I found literature researches on fMRI scalp treatment for stroke mechanism are not so many. Objective:To study scalp electro-acupuncture intervention on functional areas of the brain and explore the mechanism of scalp electro-acupuncture in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke. Methods:We select four brain stroke patients from Jiangsu Provincial Authorities Rehabilitation Hospital in stable condition. They were performed conventional rehabilitation training and acupuncture treatment, remove MRI contraindications, go to the image center by MRI scans after dinner for about18points. After full communication, patients are pushed into the MRI scans, wearing an eye mask and a headset, fixing the heads. We instruct the patients keeping head intact, turn off the lights, and collect routine MRI scan and resting state data (510s); After the acquisition, an experienced acupuncturist make acupuncture (MS6and MS7) for patients. We go on collecting resting state data (510s). Final we use scalp electro-acupuncture (waveform:the density wave, frequency:2/15hz). The intensity of debugging related to the participants feeling beating but without the pain. We start the last resting state data collection (510s). At last, we observe the regional homogeneity of the acupuncture before, still retaining needle and electric needle. Results:The regional homogeneity fall down in lesion areas while enhance in contralateral basal ganglia and corona radiata region; After acupuncture, regional homogeneity of posterior central gyrus has heightened, near to lesion side. After scalp electro-acupuncture, regional homogeneity of bilateral posterior central gyrus is further increased and the range is slightly enlarged. Conclusion:The regional homogeneity of lesion sites fall down; mechanism of scalp acupuncture treatment on ischemic stroke may be related to increasing the regional homogeneity of lesion site and posterior central gyrus; scalp electro-acupuncture has difference between scalp acupuncture.
