The Serum Level Of IGF-1、IGFBP-3in Idiopathic Central Precocious Puberty (ICPP) And Relationship With Physical、Sexual Development

Objective To investigate the relation between IGF-1、IGFBP-3Level and the physicaldevelopment, sexual development in girls with with idiopathic central precocious puberty(ICPP).Methods A total of106girls with ICPP,82girls with Peripheral precocious puberty（PPP）and70controls were recruited in this study．All subjects had their heights andweights measured and were classified into five stages by endocrinologists using Tannerstage criteria, calculated body mass index(BMI), evaluated bone age(BA) by TW3; Thelevels of serum IGF-1、IGFBP-3and sex hormone were detected by chemiluminescentassay system．Results with the same age and tanner stage, the serum IGF-1（P=0.519,0.833,0.688,respectively）, IGFBP-3（P=0.524,0.893,0.948, respectively）levels of PPP were higherthan controls, but no significant difference between two groups; the serum IGF-1levels ofICPP were higher than controls (P=0.000,0.007,0.007, respectively)and PPP group（P=0.000,0.007,0.018, respectively）. For the girls with ICPP, as the age or/and tannerstage increasing, the serum IGF-1levels were increasing; After menstruating, there was nosignificant difference in different tanner stage. In addition to the group of ages8to9(P=0.217）, in the other two groups（the ages rang form6to8）the serum IGFBP-3levels of ICPP were higher than controls (P=0.003,0.016, respectively) and PPP（P=0.008,0.019, respectively）group. For the girls with ICPP, although the level of IGFBP-3increasing with the age or/and tanner stage were increasd, but there was no obviousdifference. The serum IGF-1levels were positively correlation with bone age(BA), boneage index(BA/CA), BA-CA, height, weight, body mass index(BMI), HtSDS, WtSDS,estradiol (E2), luteinizing hormone(LH), the volume of Uterine, ovarian and thickness ofbreast; but no significant correlation with follicular estrogen(FSH)(P<0.05). No correlation was found between the serum IGFBP-3levels and all the indexes (P>0.05)．Conclusion⑴The serum levels of IGF-1play an important role in promoting theprocess of skeletal maturation, rapid physical development of the female with ICPP;⑵The serum levels of IGF-1play an important role in promoting the process of sexualdevelopment;⑶IGF-1may be one of the indexes that suggest children with centralprecious puberty(CPP);⑷ICPP may cause some children gain weight.
