Angelicae sinensis Radix is the dry root of Apiaceae plant Angelica sinensis (Oliv.)Diels., which has the function of supplying and invigorating blood, regulating menstruation pain, relaxing bowel, etc. It is mainly used for blood deficiency chlorosis, irregular menses, asthenia cold abdominalgia, rheumatic arthralgia, injury from falling down, intestinal dry constipation in clinical. Angelicae sinensis Radix is growing in the cold rainy mountains, mainly produced in Gansu, Qinghai, Shanxi,Yunnan, Sichuan and other places, including in Min county of Gansu province which quality is the best. Angelicae sinensis Radix is often compatible with Astragali Radix in clinal, which forms the famous prescription Danggui Buxue Decoction. It has been used in clinal for many years and has good effect in enriching blood. In addition, it is usually associated with other traditional Chinese medicine in clinical. Now commercially Angelicae sinensis Radix blood enriching oral liquid is evolved from the classical prescription Danggui Buxue Decoction. Due to oral liquid has the advantages of small doses, absorbing fast, stable quality, therefore, highly development and research on Angelicae sinensis Radix and its blood enriching oral liquid has practical and academic value. This study collected six different sources of Angelicae sinensis Radix, and did related research to quality control factors, including characters, water, ash, acid insoluble ash, extractive contents. Use HPLC method to determine the content of ferulic acid in Angelicae sinensis Radix; set up a flame atomic absorption spectrometry method to determine the contents of trace elements including Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn and Cu in Angelicae sinensis Radix. And use flame atomic absorption spectrometry method to determine the contents of trace elements including Pb,Cr,Cd and Ni in Angelicae sinensis Radix. On the basis of the determination results, finally selected the optimum raw material of Angelicae sinensis Radix blood supplementing oral liquid. The extraction process of Angelicae sinensis Radix naphtha and polysaccharide were carried out with L9 (34) orthogonal test. Considered the extraction times, the soaking time and the extracting time as the factor investigation, and considered naphtha yield and polysaccharide as the index to the orthogonal experiment, then confirmed the process. The optimum extraction process was A3B2C3, medicinal materials being soaked in eight times water, for soaking 1.5 hours, extracting 3 times repeatedly, each time extracting six hours. Did the preliminary study of Angelicae sinensis Radix blood supplementing oral liquid. This study could provide the reference production and quality control for Angelicae sinensis Radix blood supplementing oral liquid. This study adopted the direct flame atomic absorption spectrometry in Angelicae sinensis Radix blood supplementing oral liquid(homemade and commercially available) and ferrous oral liquid(commercially available) to determine the contects of Fe, Cu and Zn elements. Angelicae sinensis Radix blood supplementing oral liquid has rich trace elements of Fe, Zn, Cu and the contects from high to low was Fe> Zn> Cu. At the same time, ferrous oral liquid also has rich trace elements of Fe, Cu, Zn, but the contects of Fe, Cu and Zn elements from high to low was Fe> Cu> Zn. This study could provide academic value for further explore and analyze the mechanism of action in Chinese and western blood supplementing oral liquid.
