The flowers of ginseng, known as the inflorescence in bud of Panax ginseng C.A.Meyer, were used in traditional Chinese medicine as well as ginseng roots. The Chinese medicinal herbal said: It’s stimulating to drink the ginseng flower tea processed by brown sugar. The ginsenosides and polysaccharides in the flowers were considerably higher than that in the roots. The medico-method of the flowers mainly lies in ginseng flower tea, therefore, its active ingredient can’t be used effectively and cause huge waste. Modern extractive and detection techniques were used to separate and purify the monomeric compound from ginseng flowers, malonyl ginsenosides were studied from ginseng flowers for the first time. This thesis provided theoretical basis and technical support for the pharmacological activity testing as well as the development and utilization of the flowers of Panax ginseng.Methanol was used as extraction solvent to extract fresh ginseng flower buds after freeze drying, alcohol extration-water precipitation method was used to remove pigment, then the filtrate was subject to macro-reticular resins, medium pressure preparative liquid chromatography(MPLC), ODS-C18 column chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC), et al, MPLC/MS was conducted to test and analyse each fraction obtained from the extraction and purification process. 15 compounds were obtained by the method mentioned above, 12 compounds of them were elucidated by extensive physicochemical property and spectrum analysis such as IR, MS, HR-ESI-MS, 13C-MNR, 1H-NMR and 2D NMR(HSQC, HMBC, 1H-1H COSY, NOESY). They were identified as: malonyl ginsenoside Re, Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Rd and ginsenoside Ro, Rg1, Re, Rb1, Rb2, Rc, Rd. Among them, malonyl ginsenoside Re(M-Re) was a new compound obtained as a protopanaxatriol-type malonyl ginsenoside for the first time. It was named(20S)-Protopanaxatriol-6-[O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1â†'2)-β-Dglucopyranosyl]-20-O-(6-O-malonyl)-β-D-glucopyranoside. The other four malonyl ginsenosides(M-Rb1, M-Rb2, M-Rc, M-Rd) were isolated from the flowers of panax ginseng for the first time. Malonyl ginsenosides acquired by this method was confirmed to be quickly, simple, effective and economical, which can realize commercial production and provide theoretical basis for the researching and developing of new medicines based upon malonyl ginsenosides.
