Objective:To explore the clinical value of ultrasonic anatomy imaging and color doppler flow imaging (CDFI)of normal tongue.Methods:1 Subjects:243 subjects were selected, aged from 2 to 83 years old,mean age 43.1±26.8.There were 119 men and 124 wemen in the research.All of the 243 subjects with normal tongues were examined with percutaneous suprahyoid real-time high-frequency ultrasound and color Dopple ultrasound.2 Instrument:A set of PILLIPS IE22 color Doppler ultrasound instrument with the L12-5transducer with frequency range 7.5-10MHz.3 Image Acquisition:We collected the datas of the ultrasonic anatomy views and the sizes of the different parts of the normal tongue.And also we collected the color doppler flow imaging datas of the different parts of the normal tongue. The parameters included:artery diameter(D),resistance index(RI),and the peak value of blood flow velocty in systole phase.Results:1 We could obtain the ultrasonic anatomy views and the sizes of the different parts of the normal tongue.2 The rate of continual and comprehensive ultrasound anatomy views which we obtained could be 100%.And color Doppler flow images were satisfied. The important normal structures of the tongue were clearly discernible.The widths which refered to the tip of the tongues were 28.79±4.52mm. The widths which refered to the body of the tongues were 36.35±3.96mm.The widths which refered to the root of the tongues were 31.34±3.67 mm. The thickness which refered to the tip of the tongues were 20.46±4.70 mm. The thickness which refered to the body of the tongues were 23.48±2.09mm. The thickness which refered to the root of the tongues were 24.02±4.76mm. The length which refered to the tongues were 53.57±6.53 mm.3 The tongue deep artery of normal subjects color doppler blood flow test results showed that the left side of the tongue deep artery diameter (LD) 1.76 ±0.54 mm, the right side of the tongue deep artery diameter (RD) 1.78±0.33 mm, maximum peak flow velocity of the left tongue deep artery (Lvmax) 0.26 ±0.08m/s, on the right side of the tongue deep artery maximum peak flow velocity (Rvmax) 0.25±0.09 m/s, the lowest on the left side of the tongue deep artery flow velocity (Lvmin) 0.13±0.03 m/s, the lowest on the right side of the tongue deep artery flow velocity (Rvmin) 0.09±0.06 m/s, on the left side of the tongue deep artery resistance index of 0.70±0.03, on the right side of the tongue deep artery resistance index (RRI) 0.71±0.08.Conclusion:In the research,ultrasonic anatomy imaging and color doppler flow imaging of normal tongue were satisfied. Ultrasonic anatomy imaging and color doppler flow imaging of normal tongue will play an important part in the research of tongue.It is an safe,accurate and effective measure.
