| ObjectivesInvestigation of the health condition of disabled elderly.Investigation the condition of caregivers of disabled elderly. Analysis of the similarities and differences between nursing knowledge and skills needs and social service needs according to the assessment results of demand of disabled elderly care. Analysis the condition of nursing knowledge of caregivers and explore a new educate method by WeChat public platform.MethodsThis study is divided into three parts:the first part is the present situation investigation and study, In 2015 February, To collect some general information such as health status and daily activities base on the questionnaire survey from 450 disabled elderly people from 9 different provinces:Jiangsu, Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Shandong, Hebei, Henan, Tianjin, Heilongjiang. The second part is still survey and research, carry out a questionnaire survey toward the caregiver of the 450 disabled elderly, collect data of Demographic and social information,the situation of demand and the level of nursing knowledge of these disabled elderly caregivers. The third part is discusses and practice, present the construction and effect of WeChat platform for public knowledge of elderly nursing health education practice, based on the analysis of the disabled elderly caregivers perspective evaluation of WeChat platform for public health education effect.All data would be analysed and presented with the software of SPSS17.0.ResultsThe first part of the survey shows that:(1) There are more female disabled elderly than male, The level of education in primary school and below accounted for 66.4%, suffering heavy economic pressure and supporting by their children.(2) Most of disabled elderly are in poor health condition,20-30% of them are good at eyesight and hearing, more than half of them suffering gatism and insomnia. It is very common for them to have 2 diseases the same time with the highest incidence of diseases are hypertension, coronary heart disease, bone and joint disease, cerebrovascular disease, hyperlipidemia.(3) the result of the survey shows the rate of lost daily living ability:very mild disability accounted for 59.6%, mild disability is 17.8%, moderate disability is 16.9%, and severe disability 5.8%.The second part of the survey shows that:(1) The majority of caregivers are women,80% of whom are children or their spouses. They are from 40 to 60 years old and education level are junior middle school and below. The caregivers made nursing staff qualifications of personnel accounted for 2.2%.(2) Care knowledge and skills needs in the top three items are:the elderly sick care situation, accounting for 93.3% of the elderly; medication safety guidance, accounting for 91.8%; knowledge of the elderly suffering from disease accounted for 86%.(3) Compare of nursing knowledge and skill requirement. Different gender:male care knowledge and skills needs score was 60.99±21.22,63.41±10.39 for females, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). Different relationship:the children group’s score was 60.87±11.16, nanny group’s score was 64.13±30.33, spouse group’s score was 59.54±9.71, relative group score was 61.90±11.18. Different regions:demand among different regions of 9 provinces and cities also score was not statistically significant (P>0.05).(4) Compare of caregivers social service needs. Different gender:male care knowledge and skills needs score was 36.41±9.09,36.424±9.383 for females, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). Different relationship:the children group score was 36.86±8.96, nanny group’s score was 37.32±9.45, Spouse group’s score was 34.79±9.70, relative group score was 36.04±7.76, the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). Different regional differences:9 provinces between different areas of social support services score is also no statistical significance (P>0.05).(5) Master degree nursing knowledge of disabled elderly caregivers at the intermediate level, the total score is 33 points in the test, the average score was 17.35±6.12.(6) Compare of caregivers retire knowledge. Gender:the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05); different age levels:there was no significant difference (P>0.05) between different degree; the caregivers, mastery of knowledge of nursing was statistically significant difference (P<0.01).The third part of the survey shows that:(1) The WeChat platform provides a wealth of health education for the disabled elderly, practical and strong.(2) The WeChat platform provides a convenient way to obtain knowledge and skills for the elderly caregivers, and is free from the time and space constraints.(3) The limitations of the WeChat platform are related to the instability of the electronic equipment.Conclusiongeneral poor health disability in elderly people, disabled elderly caregivers are family members, spouses and children of the majority.disabled elderly caregivers in the number of trained rarely.disabled elderly caregivers of elderly nursing knowledge is medium level, strengthen training is needed. Care knowledge and skills and social support service needs of caregivers were higher. WeChat public platform for caregivers learning care knowledge and skills to provide a convenient. The use of WeChat platform for public health education model is worthy of further promotion. |
