Combining withthe characteristics of pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy patients, giving clearkidney detoxification therapy, analyzing the control group treated with conventionalwestern medicine, through clinical observation, we have discovered combinationtreatment efficacy of TCM and western medicine on diabetic nephropathy is better thanthat of western medicine, with the characteristics of the high safety, little side effects,etc. According to the evidence based on medicine theory, a lot of TCM clinicalresearch literature on the disease and related test index have been collected, aimingto explore the clinical effect of combination of clearing kidney detoxification method ondiabetic nephropathy of TCM and Western medicine, and combining with thecharacteristics of diabetic nephropathy onset occult, advocating the health concept of"preventive treatment of disease", improving people’s health care thoughts, so as toimprove the quality of life.Methods：60patients with diabetic nephropathy have been chosen according with the diagnosis and dialectical standard, who are from the out-patient and in-patient patients in the Department of China-Japan Union hospital of Jilin University. They have been randomly divided into two groups of30cases, the treatment group and the control group and the study has been completed in all pati ents, no loss case. There is no statistical significance (P>0.05) in the two groups in terms of sex, age, course of disease, and the severity before the treatment. Patients in both2groups are needed to improve the way of life, by implementing low fat, low sugar, low salt, low protein diet, weight control, and regular exercises. While the control group (30cases) are given western medicine conventional symptomatic treatment(control of blood pressure preferred ACEI and ARB,adjust blood lipid preferred statins,control your blood sugar should choose insulin therapy toavoid the burden on the kidneys.) the treatment group (30cases) are to give clear kidney detoxification on the basis of the control group (the drug composition:rawland,radix puerariae,trichosanthin, Shuanghua, forsythia, madder, Polygonum aviculare, Dianthus Superbus, size thistle); The treatment is of12weeks. Two groupshave been observed before and after treatment to compare the therapeutic efficacy of TCM syndromes,the-fasting blood glucose (FPG),the glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), the changes of urine protein.Results：1Comparison of patients treated with total curative effect between thetreatment group and the control group: in the treatment group,15significantly effectivecases,10effective cases,5invalid cases, the total efficiency of83.33%; in the controlgroup,6significantly effective cases,14effective cases,10invalid cases, the totaleffective rate of66.67%.
