Objective Diabetic nephropathy(DN) is one of the most common diabetic macrovascular complications. In case of diabetics, 30 percent to 40 percent of them could have kidney damage, which reins about 5 percent of type 2 diabetes patients the moment their illnesses are diagnosed. At different stages, the clinical manifestations of Diabetic nephropathy are different, mainly for the different proteinuria levels and progressive decrease in renal function. Diabetic nephropathy is more likely to kill diabetics and make deep inroads in the living quality of them. With the development of medical science and the enhancement of living quality, the studies of Diabetic nephropathy have delved deeper and deeper. Primary treatments of Diabetic nephropathyinclude early control of blood-glucose level, interference with dangerous factors and renal replacement therapy at the end-stage renal disease. Recent years have witnessed that traditional Chinese medicine has had remarkable achievements on the study of Diabetic nephropathy. Appling syndrome differentiation and treatment according the condition of patients, and taking traditional Chinese medicine soup or oral Chinese patent drugs do work, but because of the bad taste it is not easy for the patients who take the traditional Chinese medicine to persist. For clinical therapy, taking all factors—including the clinical efficacy of Diabetic nephropathy, administration routes, toxicity and side effects and compliance of diabetic patients—into consideration and connecting them with the clinical practice, the research comes with hammering at a workable and reliable treatment. Utilizing the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, the objective is to investigate the curative effects of abelmosehus moschatus and alprostadil injection for diabetic nephropathy. Methods Randomly average 60 cases of Diabetic nephropathy patients(31 male patients and 29 female) into two groups —comparison group and treatment group, and through statistical analysis, in this two groups the clinical data of patients has no significant difference in gender, age, course and severity of the disease, which shows the comparability between the two groups. All the patients are under the same Diabetic nephropathy conventional treatments including alimentary therapeutic, decreasing blood glucose, regulating blood lipid and controlling blood pressure. The comparison group is given 10μg alprostadil injection plus 100 ml saline using a sessile drop method, 1/d, three weeks for a course of treatment; the treatment group is given 10μ g alprostadil injection plus 100 ml saline using a sessile drop method and takes oral abelmosehus moschatus 5/time, 3times/d, three weeks for a course of treatment. Before and after the treatment, statistically measure the 24 hours urinary protein(24hupro), serum creatinine(Scr), blood urea nitrogen(BUN), cystatin C, hemorheology(whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity) to evaluate curative effects. Results After treatments, in terms of comprehensive clinical effects, the effective rate of treatment group is 96.67% and of comparison group is 83.33%, with a p-value of the effective rate and the cure rate is less than 0.05, which indicates the comprehensive clinical effects of treatment group is superior to the comparison group; in terms of laboratory examinations of the two groups, by the ×2 test, P is less than 0.05, which indicates in laboratory examination the significant differences between them and the superiority of the treatment group; in terms of the total score for symptoms and signs, by the t-test, P is less than 0.05, which indicates in the total score for symptoms and signs the significant differences between the two groups and also the superiority of the treatment group. What is more, no adverse reactions occur to all the patients of the two groups. For the two groups, the difference is statically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions In the research, giving alprostadil injection plus oral abelmosehus moschatus to treat DN has brought the superiority of traditional Chinese and Western medicine into full play. This treatment is secure, efficient and it is also easy for patients to use and persist. Besides, it can efficaciously reduce 24 hours urinary protein(24hupro), serum creatinine(Scr), blood urea nitrogen(BUN), cystatin C, and hemorheology(whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity) of Diabetic nephropathy patients, which can enhance the renal function, decrease proteinuria, delay renal failure, and improve the living quality of Diabetic nephropathy patients. All in all, in virtue of its practicality, effectiveness, reasonable cost and little toxicity and side effects, this treatment is worthy of being widely spread in clinics.
