Shangtongling is a traditional clinical practice preparation for many years in Tibetan hospital, and it summarises the experience of treatment for injuries. It consists of Curcumae Longae Rhizoma, Zingiberis Rhizoma, Myristicae Semen, Zanthoxyli Pencarpium. Acori Calami Rhizoma. Nardostachyos Radix et Rhizoma, Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma and has the effect of invigorating the circulation of qi, relaxing the muscles, stimulating blood circulation, and anti-inflammatory analgesic. The subject is from the second-round development and study of hospital preparations in Sichuan Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Chengdu Technology Bureau and this paper is about developing Shangtongling into cataplasm which has drug loadings, strong moisturizing effect and good compatibility with our skin, with the traditional Chinese and Tibetan medicine theory as the instruction and studying the preparation before the clinical pharmacy section using the modern pharmaceutical technologies.In the study of extraction process, according to the physical and chemical properties of the effective components in the herbs and the related modern pharmacological research, we preliminarily determine the extraction process of all the herbs. Designed by star design-response surface method, volatile oil in 6 herbs in addition to the licorice is extracted first and the process parameters is that:The 6 herbs with 8.5 times the amount of water were soaked for 5h, and extracted for 7h by the steam distillation extraction, then the mixed volatile oil and the mother liquor are collected.After volatile oil been extracted, the dregs should be extracted in alcohol with liquorice. The process is:dregs with 9 times the amount of 90% alcohol in, are extracted by ultrasound for 2.5h, the filtrated recycled in the vacuo, blended with the mother liquor and concentrated until the relative density is 1.20～1.25 (65℃), add the volatile oil emulsion, stir well.In the preparation for molding process, screening matrix composition of prescription by single factor experiment and using response surface method to optimize the preparation ratio. Franz diffusion pool method is used to study the in vitro transdermal preparations, determining that the best transdermal promoter is 3% azone-propylene glycol (1:3), and the final preparation technology is:Get the polyacrylic acid sodium, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, add 100℃ of distilled water swelling, then add the hydroxy aluminium, silica gel and calcium carbonate powder according to ratio in the prescriptions, stir the mixture well and jion extractive, glycerine under the condition of 50℃,100 r/min and 30 min. Then coat, stove and cut.In the study of the quality standard, TLC is utilized for the identification of all the herbs. Use HPLC to determine the content of curcumin, demethoxycurcumin and establish the systematic methodological study.In the research of the stability, the results showed that the three batchs of samples have good stability within six months. The general principles of the preparation are all qualified.
