The Clinical Efficacy Of Integrated Treat Ment Of Zhibai Dihuang Decoction And Clar Ithromycin On ACNE Vulgaris

Objective:To observe the skin lesions and traditional chinese med icine (TCM) syndromes and safety of Zhibai Dihuang decoction combi ned with clarithromycin sustained release tablet in the treatment of pati ents with acne vulgaris.Methods:(1)179 patients were randomly divided into treatment group and c ontrol group,they were all outpatients from the Department of Integrati on of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University.(2)94 patients in the treatment group were treated with oral Zhibai Dihuang decoction(200ml bid po) and clarithromycin sustained release tablet(500mg qd po).Another 85 patients in the control group were tre ated only with oral clarithromycin sustained release tablet. The two grou ps were treated with 6 weeks.(3)The skin lesions and TCM syndromes were observed after 6 we eks. The adverse effects in the duration of treatment were observed.Results:(1)The skin lesions and TCM syndromes scores in both two group s were lowered compared with that scores before receiving the treatme nt,and the differences were significant(P<0.05).(2)The clinical cure rate,the efficiency and the total efficiency we re 8.24%,52.94%,95.29% respectively.And those of the control group w ere 3.90%、33.77%、79.22%.The effect of the treatment group was sig nificantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).(3)The improvements of treatment group on skin lesions and TCM syndromes scores were superior to those of the contol group(P<0.05).(4)There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse event between the two grops(P<0.05).Conclusion:Zhibai Dihuang decoction combined with clarithromy cin sustained release tablet can decrease skin lesions and TCM syndro mes scores of acne vulgaris. There was no severe adverse event. It is worthwhile to use in the treating of acne vulgaris.
