Objective:Through long-term follow-up, to analyse the difference of the two treatment methods on the influence of menarche age and final height of girls with idiopathic central sexual precocity (ICPP) who were treated with traditional Chinese or Western medicine.Method:77 ICPP girls from June 2009 to June 2011 from Growth special clinic, Pediatric out-patient of Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, who were diagnosed definitely of before the end of may 2011 and reaching to adult height before the end of September 2015 were selected for the retrospective study to analyse and evaluate clinical and follow-up data, the Chinese medicine group of 37 cases and Diphereline western medicine group 40 cases, had reached or close to the final adult height (FAH) and compared predicted adult height (PAH) between the two groups before and after treatment and target height (TH), FAH and menarche age differences.Results:The height of Chinese medicine group before the treatment and after the treatment were (133.65±4.83) cm、(143.08±4.75) cm, which had statistically significant difference (P<0.05); The PAH of ICPP girls in Chinese medicine group before the treatment and after the treatment were (153.44±6.68) cm、(157.84±4.73) cm (P<0.05) The predicted height of the group before and after treatment were significantly improved (P< 0.05).The FAH of ICPP girls in Chinese medicine group and Western medicine group were (157.97±3.29) cm、 (158.76±4.05) cm. The two groups had Improved the final adult height and residual growth ability, delayed menarche, there were no statistically significant differences in the two groups (P> 0.05).Conclusion:In improving the final height and controlling the menarche age, age at menarche aspects, the effect of traditional Chinese medicine is similar to Western medicine, but the Chinese medicine is cheaper and has less adverse reaction, therefore has more advantages than western medicine. |
