Objective: To examining determinants and mechanism of Mobile Nursing Information System(MNIS) acceptance of professional ward nurses by integrating Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) and the Information Systems Success Model(ISSM), then, putting forward some specific measures to improve Mobile Nursing Information System(MNIS)according to the study results, making the investment of Mobile Nursing Information System(MNIS) is of benefit to nurses and patients. Methods: Employed the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) as basic frame though research on relevant literature and comprehensive Analysis. Selects three variables, information quality, system quality and service quality, come from Information Systems Success Model(ISSM) as the external variables, then, putting forward a theoretical model. The preliminary scale was developed based on the model. A randomly selected sample of 345 professional ward nurses at one target hospital participated in this study. There were 312 valid questionnaires and the valid returned ratewas 90.43%. Make an empirical analysis on the theoretical model using descriptive statistical analysis by SPSS17.0 and Structure Equation Model(SEM) by Amos 17.0.Results:(1)information quality and system quality posted the lowest scores(2.53±0.90,2.80±0.90); perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and acceptance scored higher(3.15±0.89, 3.06±0.87, 3.21±0.86).(2) Both information quality and system quality significantly affected nurses’ acceptance(R2=66%); information quality, system quality and service quality all significantly affected nurses’ perceived usefulness(R2=69%)and perceived ease of use(R2=64%); information quality has a major impact on perceived usefulness(β=0.66,P<0.001)and system quality has a major impact on perceived ease of use(β=0.64,P<0.001).Conclusion:(1)perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are two important influencing factors of nurses’ acceptance of mobile nursing information system; information quality is one important factor of influencing perceived usefulness and system quality is one important factor of influencing perceived ease of use. These findings indicated that there is a scientific and rational path that high-quality healthcare information and system of mobile nursing information system could be effective to improve the acceptance of nurses. Success with MNIS and other hospital information system(HIS) can benefit from assessing end-user acceptance and elucidating the factors.(2)Based on the impact of population charactersof nurses and system characters on perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and acceptance, this study make suggestions about being familiar with workflow, promoting participation, changing training methods, collecting real-time feedback improving user interface design, improving quality of supports to improve the nurses’ acceptance of mobile nursing information system.
