This study is divided into 3 parts :preventive effects of camel milk on type 1diabetes in mice; the adjuvant therapy effects of camel milk on type 1 diabetic mice;the preventive effects of camel milk and chickpeas on type 2 diabetes mice.In the preventive effects of camel milk on type 1 diabetes in mice, we used to prove and explain the prevention effect of camel milk on diabetes mellitus. We were to preventively administer the normal mice by gavage with the camel milk 35 d, and then intraperitoneally inject the prevented mice with Streptozotocin; Finally, the SOD and GSH-Px activity, blood glucose level, and MDA,TG were determined for the control group, diabetes mellitus model group, and all treatment groups. The results showed that the Camel milk can significantly reduce glucose level, MDA content in blood, and also enhance SOD and GSH-Px activity of diabetes mellitus mice. Therefore, the Camel milk has prevention and therapeutic effects on hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia, and can effectively enhance the anti-oxidation ability in diabetes mellitus mice.In the adjuvant therapy effects of camel milk on type 1 diabetic mice, we used to prove and explain the treatment effect of Camel milk on diabetes mellitus. After adapted to feeding 3 d, the experimental mice were randomly divided into following five groups: control group, model group,camel milk group, chickpea group and combined group.The mice with type 2diabetes mellitus were induced by high fat diet combined with Streptozotocin(STZ).Finally, we were determined SOD activity, blood glucose level, and MDA, TG, TC,HDL-C, LDL-C.The results showed that camel milk can significantly the glucose,MDA, TG, TC and LDL-C contents in blood of diabetes mellitus mice while enhance SOD activity, and serum content of HDL-C. These results suggested thatcamel milk and chickpea had preventive and therapeutic effects on hyperglycemia and hyperlipidemia in type 2 diabetes mellitus mice.
