Analysis Zha Liangzheng English Poetry Translation From The Perspective Of Relevance Theory

This paper mainly discusses the relationship between the relevance theory of thecognitive pragmatics category and the translation of English poetry, researches the directionand reflection of the relevance theory for English poetry translation of Zha Liangzheng on thebasis of relevance theory.In the frame of relevance translation theory, the translation activity is anostensive-inferential process, which mainly researches the translation ability. As the receiverand the speaker, the translator on the one hand needs to fully grasp the original intention ofwriting; on the other hand, needs to understand the cognitive ability, expectation of readingand aesthetic habit of readers in translation activity. The task of the translator is that properlyconveys correlation of the original to the translation, and ensures that the reader pays theminimum reasoning to get the greatest contextual effect.This paper is given priority to the example of Zha Liangzheng poetry translation, fullyconsiderates the cultural background difference of the two different language systems, whichfrom literal translation to the transformation of the context and creation, from the translationof the form to the poetry translation of cultural context. The paper wants to correspondEnglish context and Chinese context’s conversion and creation from the language、content andform, it strives to make the similar contextual effect of the version and the original. ZhaLiangzheng adheres to use the language of the poem to translation, pays attention to theinterpretation of the whole of the original content and image, who pursuits the coordination ofrhyme and textual structure. Under the guidance of the principle of relevance, Zha liangzhenginsists on translation strategy of both "bold" and “faithful", seeks the optimal relevancebetween text and its translation.
