| Shop name is a significant language phenomenon, which reflects the economicdevelopment and markes time imprint of a society. Shopping on the Internet, which adapt tothe economic development and meets people’s consumption demand, is a product of internetage. The existence of a large number of online shop names is not only an epitome of time’scharacteristics, but also records the feature of language and culture in the era of the internet.In this thesis, the writer takes Paipai as the research object and uses the methods ofsurvey and statistics to analysize the languages mainly from the perspectives of language andculture to reveal the laws and characteristics in the online shop names.This thesis is mainly divided into six parts:Chapter one is the introduction, which briefly introduces on the present situation of shopname and online shop name and points out the research object and methods.Chapter two analysize the elements in the online shop name. In this section the writerdevided the shop names into character names and the blending name of character and symbolto analysize their characteristics.Chapter three is about the analysis of words and phrases in the online shop names. Thispart mainly focuses on the words that are used in generic names, industry names and specificnames.Chapter four analyzes many different rhetorical devices that are used in the onling shopnaming.Chapter five is about the culture characteristics in the online shop name. It reveals theculture which the shop name contains and the mutual influence between language and culture.Chapter six points out the problems in the online shop names and gives relatedsuggestions. |
