Interpretation is an important means in present international exchanges and cooperation in diverse fields nowadays. It is such a vital concept in the modern linguistics, as well as communication field. Interpretation research has been on the rise and more interdisciplinary-oriented.Interpretation is dynamic contextual communication. On one hand, interpreters will inevitably encounter the language problems on choices in lines with different contextual factors in order to transfer original message accurately and achieve smooth communication. On the other hand, from the viewpoint of communication, interpretation also involves the issue of interpersonal communication theory (IPC), which guides our understanding. That is interpretation, which aims to turn people on to places.Chapter One presents the research background, significance and organization.Chapter Two reveals the relevant literature on the evolving study of the notion of interpretation and context. Furthermore, it introduces the study of the categories.Chapter Three explicates the definition and classifications of context. It also introduces context into interpretation in the light of linguistic context, non-linguistic context, and physical context.Chapter Four explains interpersonal communication into interpretation, and uses some case studies to explain how to apply IPC theory to interpretation.Chapter Five enumerates the challenges of interpreting, also the qualities of interpreters.Chapter Six draws the conclusion for the thesis, spotting the limitation and identifying findings and implications to the future study.
