An Analysis Of The Psychological Verbs In "the Poems Of Du Fu"

As a category of the verbs, the psychological verbs have someunique grammatical features. There are76psychological verbs in "The Poemsof Du Fu". Using the Semantic Fields Theory and Grammatical FunctionTheory, semantic features and grammatical functions of these psychologicalverbs are analyzed.This article is divided into three parts. The first part is the overview of thepsychological verbs. The researches of psychological verbs and ancientChinese psychological verbs, the definition and characteristics of thepsychological verbs are introduced in this part.The second part is about the semantics of psychological verbs in "ThePoems of Du Fu". According to the emotional influences and whether thepsychological burden can be brought, the psychological verbs are divided intotwo types——positive psychological verbs and negative psychological verbs.According to the Semantic Fields Theory, the positive and negativepsychological verbs are divided into some smaller semantic fields. The verbsin the same semantic field are contrasted and analyzed.The third part is the analysis of the grammatical functions of thepsychological verbs, mainly about the syntactic components which these verbscan play and the syntactic combination ability of these verbs.
