Practice Report On The Interpretation Of NHK Special Films

This report is the author using the NHK special films as a practice material and takingindependent simultaneous interpretation practice forms in the period from September2013toApril2014. The report describes in detail the whole process of simultaneous interpretation.Mainly includes the task description, the process of practice, case analysis and summary ofpractice.In chapter one, the author briefly introduces the content of the practice, the purpose andthe steps. There are four main NHK special films including Change the World-Steve Jobs,MADE IN JAPAN, The New Rich Layer and Nation, Leap and Friction---the Dragon andGiant Elephant are Engulfing the World. Choose the simultaneous interpretation asits practice forms interpretation is the highest realm of interpretation, and it has great marketprospects. The simultaneous interpretation training can make the translation improved. Inthe practice of material is easy to obtain, considering the large amount of information, close tothe advantages of simultaneous interpreting field etc. The author chooses the NHKspecial films as own practice material. In the practice step, the author will be divided intosix steps to practice.In the second chapter, the author describes the process of the practice of NHK specialfilms. The author made the instructions in several aspects: preparation, timeline, difficultproblems in practice process. Before beginning the practice of simultaneous interpretation, forproblems that may be encountered in practice, make appropriate preparations, such aspreparing the appropriate tools, formulate type table and glossary about materials of NHKfeature films and do a lot of repeat exercises.The third chapter is the analysis of NHK simultaneous interpretation practice cases. Withusing the way of example analysis three reasons of mistranslations. The author searchmethods to solve those problems by means of searching interpretation theories and skillsbooks, asking faculty adviser, as well as browsing the network. The author use the concretemeasures for the further practice of NHK special films. The fourth chapter is the conclusion of NHK special simultaneous interpretation practice.Based on the above practical experience in the practice the author summarizes the progressfrom the practice. At the same time, put forward the related thinking on unsolved problems.Lastly the author puts forward the personal recommendations for those who want to be thesimultaneous interpreter. And hope that will helpful to them.
