In the general trend of global "Chinese hot", the teaching of Chinese as a foreignlanguage is under development and improvement, the corresponding teaching methodalso needs to be increased, improved further. Owning to its vivid and intuitivepresenting mode and rich language and cultural information carrying capacity, filmappreciation as an innovative teaching method has been adopted by more and moreteachers of the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language in class. In the literaturereview, we can find that not so many studies of combination of film resources and theteaching of Chinese as a foreign language have been investigated, not as mature andperfect as film teaching. But many experts, scholars have been trying to explore,practice, and share their research results, demonstrating the uniqueness, significance andeffectiveness of the movie resources in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language.Some Chinese audio-visual materials adapted according to Chinese films have beenpublished in our country. Despite a small quantity and limited series, it proves to receivea good teaching effect in practice. Studies of film resources in the teaching of Chineseas a foreign language still have been not deep and comprehensive enough by now in ourcountry. Some specific teaching practices are of kinds of arbitrariness. There exist someproblems such as the inappropriateness of selecting films, lack of explicit teaching aimsand comprehensive arrangements, and teaching results failing to expectation effect. Nomatter in depth or in width, it is worthwhile to analyze how to make use of filmresource and how to combine the film appreciation with the teaching of Chinese as aforeign language effectively.In the second chapter of this paper, the author lists five theoretical foundation offilm appreciation in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, Combining therelevant references and the author’s own understanding, the author then concludedseveral applicative principles of film appreciation in the teaching of Chinese as aforeign language, including standard specification of language, the suitability of subjectand content, the rationality of activities before and after class, combination of intensiveand extensive reading, and the key function of teachers’ guidance, foreground ofheuristic, with the function of cultural transmission of certain.Finally, this paper takesthe movie if you are the one "I" as an example and cut out the first fifty-five minutes’film to design a specific teaching. I hope that these theories and principles can be taken into consideration in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language in the future.Teachers should select the film and television materials carefully according to thesetheories and principles, design the teaching plan appropriately, and organize theteaching flexibly and effectively, which will make more overseas students like Chinesemovie and television plays, enhance their understanding of Chinese culture, andcommunicate in Chinese successfully. And I also hope that the research connecting thefilm and television appreciation with the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language canbe supplemented and extended. The pattern that making the film and televisionappreciation apply into the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language is still underexploration and improvement. Of course all the principles which connect the film andtelevision appreciation with the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language are notincluded in the above mentioned seven principles. Maybe there are many mattersneeding attention that the author do not understand and explore.Due to my own limited level and the shortage of teaching experience, there are stillmany shortcomings in this research. I’ll commit to the study connecting the film andtelevision appreciation with the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language basing on thepractical teaching in the future.
