Reading-drills is one of the most important integrated-skill training course inthe syllabus of Chinese language as the second language acquistion,for the reasonthat acquirers would have the capabilities of knowing how to apply readingstrategies into practice,with the result of improvement in efficiency of readingbehavior. The research hereby was conducted under framework and learningstrategies with high degree of approval, which are the metacognitive strategies,cognitive strategies and social affective strategies classification, and thecorresponding questionnaire was designed by the reference of the previous OxfordReading Strategies Inventory. After the investigation on165undergraduates in9universities of Kyrgyzstan, the overall situation was pictured by the analysis ofgeneral utilities of Chinese language reading strategies, the prob into therelationship over the majors and genders in the non-target language environmentand some distinctive characteristics of the utility of reading strategies inKyrgyzstan undergraduates.The main results are summarized as follows:1. the overall use of the reading strategies: the social/affective strategy in thefirst place, after that is cognitive strategies, metacognitive strategies in the last. Thehigh frequent strategiese in order listed as below: inquiring, translating, repeat,encouragement, creating a good learning environment, key words, summarizing,communicating, reference books, self-assessment, auditory representation, deduce,Self-monitoring, note-taking, emotion communication, context scenarios, selectiveattention, visual identity, collaborative reading, directed physical response,self-management, method selection.2. The difference of reading strategies in genders: the social/affective strategywith distinctive feature in genders, the others are method selection, self-assessment,selective attention, auditory representation, note-taking, visual identity, contextscenarios, communicating, cultural background comparison, collaborative reading.3. The difference of reading strategies between the major students and non-Chinese majors: there are no distinctive feature in reading Three-element-theory.In addition, the Kyrgyzstan undergraduates pay more attention to the chinesecommunication in daily life, put their efforts on oral speaking and listeningcomprehension.
