On some level, we could call it The MirriorShadow of Culture.The traditional anthroponymy focus on the description of personal names,linguisticians do not usually study the hidden thought influenced by society andregional culture, the inter-action between personal names and history. However,modern anthroponymy pay much attention to the inter-ships of persinal names andculture. Linguisticians work hard on the complicated projection on personal namesjust as mind, culture, society and personal experience. In this way, they try to find thedevelopment of culture, and the reason on how personal names turn a shift into anaspect of culture.In order to widen and deepen the content of anthroponymy, this paper is designedto study from the specific regions. The statistic samples are collected from urban andrural areas in Jintai, Baoji. The differences from social events, living conditions toeducational background play a vital role in the production and procedure of personalnames. The basic relationships of how these factors work on the personal names arestrongly desired in order to give a profound and accurate explanation on the formationof various names.On the vertical level, every decade is divided to reflect its own specifics. Theoften-used words selected from persoal names could mirror the psychological reasonson making a name. These reasons are tightly linked to the social backgroud that individuals experienced on one side, the personal education and cognitive degree onthe other side.On the horizontal level, the characteristics and developing trend differ quite a lotbetween urban and rural areas. Residents in different regions have various kind ofliving conditions and experiences, which make the differences on the personal names. |
