Shen Yuqing And Guizhou Province Politics In The Late Qing Dynasty

Shen Yuqing is the last governor of Guizhou province in thelate Qing dynasty.He is Lin Zexu’s grandson.The son of thefamous westernization secretary Shen Baozhen.At an early age，he is sympathize with the reformists.We will be able to comeinto contact with his books,it is cause lack of research abouthim.In recent years,however,his book is published.It isprovided a large number of documents and materials for ourresearch.For his research contributes to supplement thepolitical history of the late Qing dynasty and Guizhou localhistory of omission. Shen Yuqing’s family and early experienceis the starting point of this paper studies the thoughts andactions.Early experience has exercised his politicalability,and provide the basis for his political activities inguizhou.His political activities in Guizhou is the key of theresearch, taking Guizhou "New Deal" and the revolution in thelate Qing dynasty as the background of this paper.To study thepolitical activities from Shen Yuqing are influence ofGuizhou social transformation in the late Qing dynasty.ShenYuqing in Guizhou’s political activities mainly embodied in two aspects:salt administrative and the “New Deal”. ResearchShen Yuqing about salt administrative and the “New Deal”(forbidden opium, civil commotion and prepare to buildrailway)cannot leave the social condition of Guizhou.Throughthe research of the social conditions in Guizhou,we can knowthe reason why Shen Yuqing’s measures have so few effective.Atthe same time,the study of Shen Yuqing’s family and his earlypolitical experience,we can recognize that Shen Yuqing inGuizhou the Revolution of1911couldn’t keep up with the trendof the history,the reason that the Qing government inGuizhou’s political ultimately ended in his hand.
