Mental Health Education is an important part of school education. Thecharacteristics that the students’ psychological development is periodical and serialdecide the Mental Health Education in primary and secondary schools not onlyembody the characteristics of each schooling stage, but also need an effectivecohesion between the two schooling stages.The author draw up the “Questionnaire on the current situation of Mental HealthEducation in primary and secondary schools”, investigate5%of middle schools and2%of primary schools by random in Jiangxi province: a total of363schools and823teachers which include full-time and part-time psychical teachers and head teachers.The result shows that most of the primary and secondary schools in Jiangxi provincehave been launched mental health education, and it is recognized and accepted thenecessity of the effective cohesion between the two schooling stages, but it still existssome issues as follows:(1) The convergence of objectives between the schooling stages is not compact,The consideration on how to embody the characteristics of each schooling stage, takethe cohesion between the two schooling stages into account, centre on fosteringstudents’ good quality is not enough; Besides, it lack a systematic vertical cohesion.(2) The contents of mental health education between different schooling stagesare not serial compactly; some contents are repeated, some contents are not connected,it lack scientific program and plan.(3) The way and methods of mental health education between differentschooling stages are not very serial compactly; It mostly emphasize personalpsychological consulting, not fully realized the characteristics of cognitivedevelopment, extrude the feature which is activity-oriented in primary schools andcombine activities with personal psychological consulting.(4)The mental health education management is mainly in school, and lack auniform and scientific evaluation system.(5)The cohesion between different disciplines is not enough, it do not form a pattern that education refer to physical and mental, parents do not fully attend.The research suggests that it need set about improve the recognition of theadministrative departments of education, school leaderships, mental health educationteachers, other discipline teachers, parents on the importance and necessity; It needplan the objectives, tasks, contents and ways scientifically, but also fully recognizethe necessity of the cohesion between schooling stages, apply the scientificviewpoints of Materialism, the theories of developmental psychological and scientificeducation management to guide the launch of mental health education;The design ofthe goals, contents, ways, methods, teaching staff construction take the characteristicand serial of students’ physical and mental development and increase the degree ofcohesion; In order to improve the students’ psychological qualities, fully developpotential, promote the students’ physical and mental sustainable development.
